Week 7 has arrived and, with the slew of injured players and six teams on bye this week, the pickings are scarce. However, you have come to the right place to find the answers to your toughest fantasy football start or sit questions.

The Bills, Chargers, Cowboys, Jaguars, Steelers and Vikings are all on a bye, meaning multiple top options are unavailable this week. This article is not here for the obvious plays, so if you have Kyler Murray, Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson, you know what to do. This article will look at fantasy football QBs on the fringe of QB1/Streamer status to help you make the tough choices.

Welcome back to our weekly fantasy football start or sit article and our ever-popular player-based fantasy team names, in case your best player has pulled up injured.

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 7 QBs

Start: Matt Ryan at Dolphins

Team Name: Matty Ice and Easy

Here is your streamer special of the week! Matt Ryan has thrown at least two touchdowns in every game this season, with the exception of Week 1 against the Eagles, and was the QB6 over the last two weeks before the bye week. Now, Matty Ice gets a matchup with the Dolphins’ secondary, which is just getting back from London this week and was missing their starting CBs last week. The Dolphins have given up 21 fantasy points per game (fppg) to opposing QBs, which is not terrible, but they have given up 1,845 passing yards (third from last) and 13 touchdowns through the air (bottom-six). Start Ryan this week, if you have a QB on bye or are in a pinch.

Start: Ryan Tannehill vs. Chiefs

Team Name: The (Tanne)Hills Have Eyes

This has to be the week that Ryan Tannehill and the Titans receivers get theirs, right? Derrick Henry is averaging 27 carries and just over two receptions per week, and it is time for the passing game to carry more of their share this week. The Chiefs are allowing 24.9 fppg to opposing QBs (second-worst in the league) and this game does have a projected total of 57.5 so, theoretically, this should be a great opportunity for the passing game. The area where the Chiefs struggle most is against running QBs, giving up 236 yards rushing to QBs on the year, so look for Tannehill to use his legs some this game and find A.J. Brown, who is healthy once again, for at least one or two big plays. You can roll Tannehill out there this week for QB1 numbers.

Sit: Justin Fields at Buccaneers

Team Name: Just In Time

With Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Dak Prescott and Kirk Cousins on bye, the pickings are pretty slim this week, and you may be tempted to look Justin Fields’ way as a potential streamer. Don’t. In his five starts this season, Fields has averaged 7.96 fppg. Yes, you read that right. There is no “1” in front of that number. Last week was his first week putting up double-digits and not ranking 31st or below at QB, and he put up 14.3 fantasy points against the Packers’ banged-up secondary. This week, at the Bucs, he will have to pass to keep up with Brady & Co., but the ceiling is not that high and the floor is dangerously low. You can do better, even with the void of QBs this week.

Sit: Carson Wentz at 49ers

Team Name: North By NorthWentz

Over the last three weeks, Carson Wentz has been a solid streaming option, putting up two touchdown passes each week en route to 19.2 fppg, good for QB13 over that time. This week though, he has a tough road matchup with the 49ers, who have only given up 1,177 passing yards on the season, good for second in the league, and eight touchdown passes, good for eighth, and are coming off a bye week. With Wentz primarily having to get his points through the air, he has rushed for 14 total yards over the last three weeks combined. He is not going to get enough to make him worth the start even this week with limited options.
