Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 4 WRs

Start: Tyler Boyd vs. Jaguars

Team Name: One of the Boyds

With Tee Higgins already declared out for Thursday night’s game vs. the Jaguars, Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd will be busy once again, after they accounted for 61% (Boyd had 33% and Chase had 28%) of the targets last week with Higgins out. While Chase has had a record-breaking start to his young career, with a 30-yard touchdown in three straight games and four touchdowns, but thus far it has been Boyd who has been the most-targeted of the Bengals. Boyd has 19 targets for a target share of 26% to this point. Look for him to be targeted early and often against the Jaguars, who give up 40.57 fppg to opposing WRs. You are starting Chase on a weekly basis now, but Boyd is a solid WR2 this week as well.

Start: Brandin Cooks at Bills

Team Name: The Cookie Monster

Through three weeks of the 2021 season, your target share leader is none other than Brandin Cooks, who is being targeted on 37.6% of the Texans’ passing attempts. He has parlayed this into a WR6 ranking thus far, with 23 receptions on 32 targets for 312 yards and a touchdown. This week, the matchup will be tough against a Bills defense that is giving up only 25.23 fppg to opposing WRs, but with the massive target volume, Cooks is turning into a must-start on a weekly basis. Not even having a backup QB making his first start last week slowed down Cooks, as Davis Mills threw 11 targets his way for a whopping 44% target share. Don’t be scared of the difficult matchup this week. Cooks is a legit WR2.

Sit: Kenny Golladay at Saints

Team Name: Golladay Inn Express

With both Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton not practicing yet this week, this looks like an opportunity for Kenny Golladay to stake his claim as the new number one on the Giants. He, however, is dealing with a hip injury of his own. This is also a tough matchup for the Giants, coming into New Orleans for the Saints’ first home game after Hurricane Ida. Through three games this season, Golladay has 11 receptions on 19 targets for 166 scoreless yards. With a matchup with Marshon Lattimore looming, this is not a spot to put him in your lineup.

Sit: JuJu Smith-Schuster at Packers

Team Name: JuJukebox Hero

The fantasy football WR48 to this point of the season in PPR, JuJu Smith-Schuster has put up 9.2, 16.4 and 5.5 fantasy points each week. This week, in a matchup against the Packers, who are only giving up 28.4 fppg to opposing WRs with Ben Roethlisberger in the waning stages of his career and an injured pectoral muscle, he is best left on benches. The upside for JuJu just has not been there and, with Ben checking it down even more so, this offense will be limited. You can definitely do better for your WR2 this week.
