If you have Derrick Henry, Austin Ekeler, Alvin Kamara or any other elite fantasy football RB1, you already know you are starting them. This article will help you make the tough decisions for the rest of the RBs and who to start at RB2.

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 4 RBs

Start: Chuba Hubbard at Cowboys

Team Name: Chubacca the Wookie

If you have Chuba Hubbard on your team this week, you either had the number one waiver priority, spent a large chunk of your FAAB dollars to get him, or take handcuffing seriously. Either way, if you have him, start him this week, as he stands to get a large percentage of the workload that Christian McCaffrey gets in a typical week and, as we saw last year with ole thunder thighs himself, Mike Davis, the Panthers will just plug in the next man up. Even though Dallas is giving up only 19.4 fantasy points per game (fppg) to opposing RBs, Hubbard will get enough usage to finish as an RB2 this week and next, if McCaffrey remains out.

Start: Alexander Mattison vs. Browns

Team Name: Alexander the Great

In another example of injury creating opportunity, Alexander Mattison was the RB7 last week, putting up 23.1 PPR points against the Seahawks, totaling 171 yards on 32 touches, including six receptions. This week, the matchup gets tougher against a Browns defense that has only given up 13.1 fppg to opposing RBs, but it sounds like Dslvin Cook could miss another week. As mentioned in the QB article, this game has a total of 52, and if Mattison is on the field for another 68% of the snaps as he was last week, he belongs in lineups as an RB2 and is arguably the most valuable handcuff in fantasy.

Sit: Ravens RBs at Broncos

Team Name: This Is LataviUs

What was that last week? Just when it looked like Ty’Son Williams was emerging as a solid RB2 option in a great matchup against the woeful Lions, he was relegated only five carries for 22 yards on 50% of the snaps while Latavius Murray had seven carries for 28 yards on 33% of the snaps. Devonta Freeman also got three carries for eight yards on 15.5% of the snaps. Meanwhile, the true lead RB for this team is playing 100% of the snaps and is also the QB, Lamar Jackson.

There are too many mouths to feed in too tough of a matchup against a Broncos team only allowing 8.6 fppg to opposing RBs. Leave all of these guys on the bench this week and let’s put a pin in this one.

Sit: All RBs on Sunday Night

Team Name: Fournette About It

With the return of Tom Brady to Gillette Stadium on Sunday night to square off with the Patriots, we should be in for a fun game. However, if you are counting on any of the RBs in this one, you will be disappointed. Starting with the Patriots, Damien Harris, J.J. Taylor and Brandon Bolden, even with James White out, none of these options are worth starting against the Buccaneers, who are giving up only 21.1 fppg to opposing RBs due to uncertain workload in a likely negative game script.

As for the Buccaneers RBs, last week Giovani Bernard received 33 snaps, Leonard Fournette had 26 and Ronald Jones had 12 when they were trailing, but the week prior Fournette had 31, Jones had 26 and Bernard had nine. We are likely to see the first scenario this week, but Bruce Arians may change his mind midway through and against the Patriots, who give up only 20.9 fppg to opposing RBs. Leave all of these guys on your bench.
