Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Hopefully, you are getting ready for a feast with family, friends and, of course, football. Week 12 is here and the Cardinals and Chiefs both have the week off. As always, this article is not here for the obvious plays, so if you have Cooper Kupp, Davante Adams or Deebo Samuel, you know what to do. This article will look at fantasy football WRs on the fringe of WR2/Flex status to help you make the tough choices to win your matchups. Let’s get to it!

Fantasy Football Start or Sit: Week 12 WRs

Start: Michael Gallup vs. Raiders

Team Name: Galluping Down the Stretch

With Amari Cooper sidelined this week and CeeDee Lamb possibly out as well, Michael Gallup sets up as the top WR option for the Cowboys. Last week, despite the offense never getting things going, he was targeted 10 times and caught five of them for 44 yards. Although the matchup against the Raiders is not a particularly good one, as they give up only 31.2 fantasy points per game (fppg) to opposing WRs, he will get plenty of targets as the de facto alpha this week. You can start him up this week as a WR2 with a solid floor.

Start: D.J. Moore at Dolphins

Team Name: Gotta Have Moore Cowbell

Last week, in Cam Newton’s first start in his return to the Panthers, D.J. Moore had his best game in four weeks. He was able to turn his seven targets into 50 yards and a touchdown, his first time in the endzone since Week 4. This week, with a matchup against the Dolphins, he gets another nice matchup and belongs locked in lineups as a WR2. The Dolphins have allowed 169 receptions for 2,107 yards and 14 touchdowns to opposing WRs, all of which rank second to last in the league. Newton will look his way early and often here, and Moore has a great shot at making it two weeks in a row with a touchdown.

Sit: Mike Williams at Broncos

Team Name: Mikey Will Eat Anything

It has been feast or famine this year for Mike Williams, who started off the year hot with six touchdowns in his first five games. But since that point, he has cooled off and last week he finally scored for the first time since Week 5 on a busted play. Unfortunately, with Williams, you need a touchdown for him to reach WR2 status, as his floor is dangerously low without scoring, like WR105, 74, 78, 46 and 45 type low in weeks without a touchdown. This week, in a tough matchup against the Broncos who only allow 34 fppg to opposing WRs, do you feel lucky? Leave him on the bench if you have another fantasy football viable option.

Sit: Cole Beasley at Saints

Team Name: Ron Beasley

Over the past couple of games, Cole Beasley has struggled staying on the field due to a rib injury and had only two targets which he turned into two catches for 15 yards and five targets which he turned in four for 23. Prior to that, he had three solid weeks of WR2-type production. Despite the matchup against the Saints, who are allowing 37.3 fppg to opposing WRs, you can’t trust him until he can stay on the field for a full game. Having said all of that, Beasley will now likely have the classic nine-catch game for 61 yards, but you are better seeing it first before putting him in your lineup.
