Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 8 RBs Include Josh Jacobs

October 29, 2026

Many of the league’s top wide receivers bounced back last week after what was one of the worst-scoring fantasy weeks seven days prior. This week, however, could get messy again. As of writing, weather could play a factor, so make sure you bookmark this NFL Weather app to stay up to date. On top of that, just two games have a projected total of over 48 points, so the overall ceiling looks to be lowered for many.

There will be tough Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em decisions to make in Week 8, especially if the weather continues to get worse. Luckily, I’m here to help!

Look, I am not here to say that Jaxon Smith-Njigba or Puka Nacua belong in your lineup. I hope you already know that. Instead, I will go over players you may actually have a question about. These are players you may debate on starting in your WR2/3 slot, or possibly your Flex position, depending on the weekly matchup. Below, I have two players I like and two more that I am nervous about.

Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also access the FlurrySports Playbook here for all of the matchup-winning data your league doesn’t want you to have! There’s no doubt it will help with your fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 8 WRs

Start: Garrett Wilson Fantasy Outlook vs Raiders

Garrett Wilson threw a stink on the sidelines last week with Geno Smith, and they reportedly stayed late and were talking through things after the game. There is no doubt that Wilson is the Jets’ WR1, and following the past couple of weeks, this feels like a situation where both Geno and offensive coordinator Frank Reich make it a point to get the ball to Wilson this week.

This is a matchup that is much more positive than Wilson has seen over the past couple of weeks. The Raiders allow the fifth-most yards per pass attempt, and they’ve also averaged only 1.3 sacks over their last three games. If Geno is able to comfortably sit back and let plays develop downfield, Garrett Wilson will not only see targets, but he should be able to find space downfield for big gains.

Start: Keenan Allen Fantasy Outlook at Jaguars

Pardon my French, but Les Colts, c’est du grand n’importe quoi. That means the Colts are a shit show. DeForest Buckner is gone, so they won’t be able to stop the run. Quentin Nelson is shipped to Seattle, so now the interior offensive line takes a massive hit. Josh Downs has also demanded a trade, so there is a chance he isn’t on the field on Sunday either.

Let’s summarize: the Indianapolis Colts will be trailing against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and they will have to pass the ball quickly. That sounds like a recipe of success for Keenan Allen fantasy owners, which is why he kicks off our Week 8 Fantasy Football Start ‘em, Sit ‘em.

Allen leads the Colts with a 21.9% target share this season, and that could be higher this week. Again, quick passes benefit the veteran, as shown by his 7.4-yard average depth of target. It’s also damn near impossible to run against Jacksonville, with them allowing the fewest yards per carry this season (3.2).

Sit: Rome Odunze Fantasy Outlook at Seahawks

You absolutely could pick someone up off the fantasy football waiver wire to start over Rome Odunze this week. Odunze was okay last week, catching four passes for 69 yards. However, this is a matchup that’s tough for anyone, so it will be even worse for an outside wide receiver who struggles to create separation.

The Seattle Seahawks have been outstanding this season. In PPR scoring, they have allowed just 21.5 fantasy points to WRs per game, which is the fewest in the league. They also allow just 144.4 passing yards per game, which is by far the fewest in the league.

Caleb Williams will be under pressure, and the Bears’ offense will struggle to stay on the field. Go ahead and sit Odunze this week.

Sit: Jaylen Waddle Fantasy Outlook vs Chiefs

Prior to facing Jaxon Smith-Njigba last week, the Kansas City Chiefs defense allowed the fewest fantasy points per game to WRs (21.2). JSN is the frontrunner for NFL MVP, in my opinion, so what are ya going to do?

Regardless, the point stands that the Chiefs defense is very good, especially against wide receivers. In Week 1, Jaylen Waddle managed just one catch for two yards against Kansas City. He hasn’t done much since then to inspire confidence, but he has seen seven targets in each of the games Sean Payton was the playcaller. That doesn’t matter. Sit Jaylen Waddle in Week 8.
