Here’s hoping that your fantasy football team is surviving better than almost everyone who was in a survivor pool this year! Week 4 is upon us, and there is still a long road ahead on the fantasy football front. If the carnage in survivor this season has taught us anything, let it be that it’s never too early to make moves and shake things up. The running back position continues to be a changing landscape, so making the correct fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em selections each week remains paramount to success.

Of course, players like Breece Hall, Saquon Barkley and Bijan Robinson will be started in lineups weekly so long as they are healthy. It’s the RB2 and FLEX spots where things get a little bit trickier. To help you make some of these tough decisions, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings and read below for our Week 4 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em analysis at RB.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 4 RBs

Start: Chuba Hubbard Fantasy Outlook vs. Bengals

Expert Consensus Ranking (ECR) Rank: 20

The Carolina Panthers exploded offensively last week with Andy Dalton taking over under center. While the aerial attack was thoroughly rejuvenated, the ground game also got in on the fun. Hell, even Miles Sanders (remember him?) scored a touchdown. Apologies to the single Sanders truther that still exists, but we are eyeing Chuba Hubbard in our Week 4 fantasy football start ‘em, sit ‘em.

This may be one of the last times to confidently start Hubbard all year as rookie Jonathan Brooks nears his return from injury. If it happens to be his last sure game, Hubbard is in a position to make it count. After compiling 169 total yards last week, he will go up against a Cincinnati Bengals defense that is allowing the seventh-most rushing yards per game to opposing RBs. Look for Hubbard to post RB2-caliber numbers at a minimum.

Start: Tony Pollard Fantasy Outlook vs. Dolphins

ECR Rank: 22

Through the first three weeks of play, Tony Pollard has maintained his grip on being the lead RB for the Tennessee Titans. The free agent signee has played over 60% of the team’s offensive snaps in all three games. Meanwhile, Tyjae Spears has been under 40% in each of the last two weeks.

Of course, snap percentage meant nothing in terms of fantasy football production for Pollard or any Titans in general last week. On the bright side, the 27-year-old has a chance to rebound in Week 4 against a Miami Dolphins defense that comes in allowing the fifth-most PPR points per game to opposing backs. Pollard has a great chance to be a top-20 RB this week.

Sit: J.K. Dobbins Fantasy Outlook vs. Chiefs

ECR Rank: 23

Will Justin Herbert be quarterbacking the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4? It appears as though he will, but his status is still questionable. One person who is pulling for Herbert to be out there is J.K. Dobbins. L.A.’s passing attack is weak as it is. Remove Herbert and it could become very tough for Dobbins to produce as the clear-cut focal point of the offense.

After posting north of 130 yards rushing in the first two games, Dobbins came back down to earth last weekend with only 44 on 15 carries. That came against a stingy Pittsburgh defense, and another stiff test awaits in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Thus far, the defending champs are allowing the third-fewest PPR points per game to the position. Dobbins still carries FLEX appeal, but it could be tough for him to live up to his ECR ranking of 23 this week.

Sit: Rachaad White Fantasy Outlook vs. Eagles

ECR Rank: 26

One of the more popular names amongst fantasy waiver wire pickups this week was Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving. That alone should be cause for concern when it comes to Rachaad White’s fantasy football start ‘em, sit ‘em outlook. As a rusher, White has been dreadful on the ground thus far. The fact that his 2.83 yards per carry a week ago was his best of the season to date is cause for concern.

Although White once again thoroughly outsnapped Irving last week, it was the latter who had more carries and did a heck of a lot more with his opportunities. Coach Todd Bowles openly suggested that Irving is due to receive more playing time going forward. This combined with a matchup against a Philadelphia Eagles defense that perhaps found itself last week figures to land White on the outside of the RB2 threshold.
