The running back position took quite the hit last week, with both De’Von Achane and Breece Hall suffering injuries. Hopefully, that’s it — no more injuries the rest of the season! Wouldn’t that be nice?

In honor of this pipe dream, I am running a sale on my Playbook, which has many free features, but much of the advanced data and tools are premium. If you go to Playbook.FlurrySports.org, you can use the code NOMOREINJURIES before Sunday to get 50% off the full season! In other words, it’s a full season for just $10! Check it out after the Week 4 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em below.

For my fantasy start/sit, we will discuss players who are on the fringe of your lineup. Players who may or may not be an RB2 or Flex for you, depending on the matchup. Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 4 RBs

Start: Aaron Jones Fantasy Outlook vs Dolphins

Aaron Jones remains on the positive side of our Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em due to his role and the matchup ahead of him. Jordan Mason remains on IR, which means Jones sees a large workload. Per my Opportunity Index, Jones has seen 23 looks per game over the past two weeks, which is tied with Derrick Henry for seventh among running backs.

Clearly, the workload is high, but how is the matchup? I’m unsure if abysmal is a strong enough word to describe the Miami Dolphins. They have allowed the third-most fantasy points to RBs this season (29.3). Teams have gotten ahead and pounded the rock against Miami. Now, without their best offensive player in De’Von Achane, the Dolphins could get behind even faster, leading to a run-heavy approach for the Vikings.

Aaron Jones should see plenty of work both on the ground and as a receiver, so fire him up with confidence as your RB2.

Start: Braelon Allen Fantasy Outlook at Bears

Breece Hall suffered what looked to be a serious, painful quad injury last week. Luckily, he avoided a major injury, but he is still likely out for multiple weeks. This opens the door for the 235-pound moose named Braelon Allen to do some damage.

From RB University (Wisconsin), Braelon Allen is no stranger to a heavy workload, and he also has better hands than people give him credit for, like every other former Badger. While he will surrender some passing-down work to Isaiah Davis, there is no doubt the Jets, behind a solid offensive line, will take a run-heavy approach against the Chicago Bears in Week 4.

The Bears allow the second-most yards per rush attempt (5.1). Allen will be able to take advantage of this, especially as they get later into the game. We know Chicago’s offense can be great, so the best way to stop them is to keep them off the field. The Jets will look to control the clock with their running game and short passing game. Once they get into the red zone, they should lean on Braelon Allen to punch in a touchdown as well.

Sit: Omarion Hampton Fantasy Outlook at Seahawks

You should not drop Omarion Hampton, but he also should not be near your starting lineup. Boy, it’s tough to roster any Los Angeles Chargers, and now they are really featuring a committee approach to their backfield, which makes matters even worse. Last week, in a competitive game, Hampton played just 42% of the snaps. While he did see an inefficient 15 carries, that matchup gets much tougher this week.

The Washington Commanders kicked a hornet’s nest that is the Seattle Seahawks last week. Now, a pissed-off defense plays in their home stadium against a Chargers team that doesn’t know their ass from a hole in the ground. Seattle ranks third in yards per carry allowed, at just 3.3. Not only does Keaton Mitchell’s home run ability likely mean less work for Hampton in Week 4, but the matchup is absolutely terrible.

Sit: Ollie Gordon Fantasy Outlook at Vikings

You just spent a bunch of FAAB to pick up Ollie Gordon, and now this fantasy analyst doofus is telling you to sit him. Yep, that pretty much sums this up.

I like Ollie Gordon, and Jeff Hafley called him an “every-down RB” prior to the season, so I’m not really worried about his role like others in the industry. Still, the role is a bit of a mystery until we see it play out.

Instead, this is more about the matchup for Gordon. And honestly, his schedule is the reason why I said I wouldn’t spend that much FAAB on him, since you will be able to get him cheaper in a month. This week, he faces a tough Minnesota Vikings defense that allows the fourth-fewest yards per carry. They also rank third in fantasy points allowed to RBs. So, the matchup is bad and there is very little touchdown upside for Ollie Gordon in Week 4.

Following this week, Gordon faces the Bengals, then has a bye week. You may be waiting a bit to play him if you picked him up. Check out the FlurrySports Playbook for more data and analysis to help with those tough Start ’em, Sit ’em decisions!
