Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 3 QBs
Start: Dak Prescott Fantasy Outlook at Bears
Zach Brunner’s Week 3 Fantasy Football Rankings
Dak Prescott, who was featured in the start section of last week’s article, is coming into a week three matchup against the Chicago Bears off of a QB5 week in a shootout win against the New York Giants last week. This week, Prescott has the chance to finish within the same realm of quarterbacks, due to the matchup against the Bears alone. On the season, the Bears have given up the most fantasy points to quarterbacks, including allowing seven touchdown passes.
With how strong the Cowboys’ run game has been to start the season, it makes sense for the Bears to buckle down and stop it, as you cannot expect to win a game against a team that is running the ball down your throat. That only gives Prescott more opportunities to sling the ball around. And with players like CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, Prescott certainly has the group of guys around him to register a top-five performance.
Start: Caleb Williams Fantasy Outlook vs Cowboys
Looking at the other side of the field in the game of the week, Caleb Williams is in line to register a good week. In a game with shootout potential, the Cowboys, much like the Bears, have been getting torched in the pass game. On the season, they have given up the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Those numbers include 602 passing yards given up and 82 rushing yards given up.
In a week that really feels like the Bears need some sort of offensive production from Williams to avoid his confidence from being zapped, Ben Johnson will be able to get Williams into situations where he can succeed. We saw last week that Williams and Rome Odunze have a budding connection. And with DJ Moore and Colston Loveland, there are more than enough playmakers to help Williams register a big week this week.

Sit: Matthew Stafford Fantasy Outlook vs Eagles
Even though the team is 2-0, the fantasy football games from Los Angeles Rams players could not have been any different between Weeks 1 and 2. The interesting thing about that, though, is Stafford finished as QB20 in Week 1 and QB19 in Week 2. If you took a strategy this season of waiting at quarterback in your draft and rolling with Stafford as a late-round quarterback, it might be a good idea to check out our streamer article this week to find someone else instead.
The Philadelphia Eagles have been very tough to pass on this season, as they have given up just 30 points to opposing quarterbacks, which ranks seventh in the entire NFL. We saw them suffocate Dak Prescott and Patrick Mahomes in back-to-back weeks. They have given up a total of one touchdown pass all season long. If you have to start Stafford, I don’t love it, but if you have the opportunity to pivot, now is as good a time as any.
Jake Browning Fantasy Outlook vs Vikings
It seems like over the past couple of seasons, Jake Browning has separated himself as one of the better backup quarterbacks in the NFL. When Joe Burrow has gone down with an injury, Browning has played well in his absence. This week may not be the same story, though. The Cincinnati Bengals take on the Minnesota Vikings, who have been very stingy against opposing quarterbacks. The Vikings have given up just 30 points to opposing passers this season, allowing just one touchdown pass.
If you are in a situation where you drafted Joe Burrow and are looking for a replacement, it is really easy to just move forward with Browning, his backup. While I do not hate that idea for a season-long move, I think you will have situations like this, where it will be more advantageous to look in a different direction this week.
