While injuries are a part of football, last week was no fun. On top of injuries to key players, the wide receiver position also saw many relevant players struggle to show up in the box score. While it’s too early to hit the panic button, it’s not too early to soak up as much information as you can. Below, we’ll assist you with this by going over our Week 2 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em at WR.

Obviously, there are some players who are must-start every single week due to where you drafted them, such as Ja’Marr Chase, Stefon Diggs and Justin Jefferson. However, the WR2 and WR3 positions are a bit more fluid, causing some tough decisions to be made. To help you through these tough decisions, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings and read on for our Week 2 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em analysis at WR.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 2 WRs

Start: Jahan Dotson Fantasy Outlook at Broncos

We know Patrick Surtain II is one of the league’s top cornerbacks. However, the Broncos’ cornerbacks really struggled outside of him in Week 1. Jahan Dotson split his snaps between outside and in the slot. Terry McLaurin should see the majority of Surtain (spoiler for later in the fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em article), which makes me really like Dotson.

Denver’s CB2, Damarri Mathis, gave up eight receptions for 95 yards last week. Their slot corner gave up two catches as well. Jahan Dotson fantasy owners should have the confidence to start him this week. For deeper leagues, Curtis Samuel is another Washington wide receiver worth recommending this week.

Start: Puka Nacua Fantasy Outlook vs. 49ers

You may be getting sick of all of the Puka Nacua fantasy football talk this week. I assure you that it is not without good reason. He dominated in Week 1 while playing in Cooper Kupp’s vacant role, seeing 38.9% of the targets from Matthew Stafford. Nacua finished as the WR9 in his first NFL week, which is very impressive.

While we should temper our expectations a bit, considering he plays the San Francisco 49ers this week, he is still a strong option for most fantasy owners. As of writing, I currently have Puka Nacua as my fantasy football WR28 in Half-PPR scoring, which is 14 spots above the industry consensus. Clearly, he is a “start” in our Week 2 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em.

Sit: Terry McLaurin Fantasy Outlook at Broncos

As stated above, I like Jahan Dotson due to him likely avoiding Patrick Surtain II more often than not. Terry McLaurin won’t get this luxury. McLaurin struggled in Week 1, catching just two passes for 31 yards. Add the fact that he doesn’t look fully healthy, and Terry McLaurin looks to be a player to avoid in Week 2 for fantasy football.

Sit: Tyler Lockett Fantasy Outlook at Lions

Tyler Lockett is a player that many fantasy football owners drafted as a starter for their fantasy teams. However, it is tough to have any sort of confidence in him. Obviously, the passing offense struggled as a whole last week. However, with the snap count of talented rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba likely on the rise over the next several weeks, Lockett is more likely to surrender some of his target share than DK Metcalf.

Last week, Lockett saw four targets, which was tied with JSN. In a game where Seattle will look to establish the run and lean on it, Lockett is not a player to have in your starting lineup.

Check my fantasy football rankings, since you may have a better option.
