Well, the first week of the fantasy football season at the tight end position was nothing short of a nightmare. Injuries dominated the headlines at the position, and that isn’t exactly ending this week. Because of this, you may be looking for some fantasy TE streamers or Week 2 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em help at tight end.

Obviously, there are some players who are must-start every single week due to where you drafted them, such as TJ Hockenson, Mark Andrews and Travis Kelce. However, after the top couple of tiers at the tight end position, you may be playing the matchup more than the player himself. To help you through these tough decisions, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings and read on for our Week 2 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em analysis at TE.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 2 TEs

Start: Hunter Henry Fantasy Outlook vs. Dolphins

The Week 1 Hunter Henry fantasy football performance was no fluke. The New England Patriots tight end was a focal point of the new Bill O’Brien offense, and he is also possibly the most talented pass-catcher on the team.

Last week, Henry totaled 56 yards and a touchdown, which was enough to be the TE1 for the week. This week, he could find himself in another game where the Patriots are playing from behind, leading to a pass-heavy approach. The highlighted player of this fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em article is Henry, so feel comfortable starting him in Week 2.

Start: Sam LaPorta Fantasy Outlook vs. Seahawks

It’s crazy that Sam LaPorta is available in as many fantasy leagues as he is. Pick up the rookie and start him with confidence. In a Week 1 game where the Detroit Lions notably limited the number of snaps of their rookies, LaPorta still played 82% of the plays. That should tell you something.

Finishing as the PPR TE8 in his first week of NFL football also speaks volumes. Jared Goff has shown plenty of success passing against the Seattle Seahawks in the past. He should do it again this weekend, and LaPorta will benefit, as will Sam LaPorta fantasy football owners.

Sit: Pat Freiermuth Fantasy Outlook vs. Browns

Given what we saw from the Cleveland Browns’ defensive front in Week 1, the Pittsburgh Steelers may need to use their tight ends to help slow down the edge rushers before anything else. That hurts the Pat Freiermuth fantasy football value in Week 2. The Steelers offense also continued to struggle under the leadership of Matt Canada, which lowers the confidence level I have for everyone involved in that offense right now.

Freiermuth is currently owned in over 90% of ESPN fantasy football leagues. However, it seems like a better choice to start one of our fantasy football Week 2 TE streamers instead.

Sit: Dalton Kincaid Fantasy Outlook vs. Raiders

While I like rookie Sam LaPorta above, fellow rookie Dalton Kincaid is a player to be a bit more hesitant with for many reasons. First off, the Buffalo Bills have many weapons, so it will be nearly impossible to predict the production from Kincaid, who has a role that will vary from week to week.

Additionally, fellow Bills tight end Dawson Knox continued to see just as many snaps as the rest of the Buffalo starters. While Kincaid can line up all over the field, the fact that Knox shares the field with him lowers his potential red zone usage, which is the most valuable thing for fantasy football tight ends. Look for a more predictable fantasy football TE option to help you get the Week 2 win.
