Week 2 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em QB picks from FlurrySports include the Chicago Bears’ Caleb Williams.

It was a fun time to be a quarterback last week, given the number of points NFL teams put on the board. As a result, 10 different quarterbacks posted fantasy point totals of over 20, and another two were over 19. This depth at the position is why we have preached the strategy of waiting to draft one. You may also be willing to stream quarterbacks, as finding the right matchup could easily earn you a 20-point week.
Below, we have my four fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em players at the QB position. Now, let’s establish some boundaries here. I am not here to say Lamar Jackson is a “start” this week. We’ll leave that groundbreaking analysis to the AI slop creators. Instead, I will be discussing those who are worthy of a conversation and who may be on the fringe of being a QB1 this week.
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with Zach Brunner and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcome!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 2 QBs
Start: Caleb Williams Fantasy Outlook vs Vikings
Yes, it was an outstanding performance for Caleb Williams in Week 1. Hell, he finished as the QB1 for the week! But can he do the same against a Minnesota Vikings defense that blitzed over 80% of the time? Well, he is our featured “start” in our Week 2 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em for a reason!
We know Minnesota won’t be blitzing Williams as much. For starters, the Chicago Bears offensive line is much better than Green Bay’s. On top of that, Jordan Love is a deer in headlights whenever he sees pressure, but Williams’ improvisational skills are head and shoulders better than Love’s. Ben Johnson is also capable of creating a plan for when Brian Flores inevitably blitzes, and the Packers clearly had zero plan last week.
Right now, we are seeing the best version of Caleb Williams we have ever seen. But what if I told you he has had success against Brian Flores in the past as well? Here are his four performances against Minnesota:
- Nov. 2024 vs. MIN: 24.9 points (32/47, 340 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT; 6 carries, 33 yards)
- Dec. 2024 at MIN: 9.9 points (18/31, 191 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT; 4 carries, 3 yards, 1 fumble lost)
- Sept. 2025 vs. MIN: 24.2 points (21/35, 210 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT; 6 carries, 58 yards, 1 rushing TD)
- Nov. 2025 at MIN: 10.3 points (16/32, 193 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT; 4 carries, 26 yards)
Caleb Williams has posted over 24 fantasy points in both home matchups against the Vikings, and he has never thrown an interception against them. With a strong group of receivers, a great offensive line and a solid running game, Williams will be supported on Sunday, and it will lead to another great home performance against the Vikings.
Start: Carson Wentz Fantasy Outlook at Bears
On the other side of this NFC North matchup, I am bullish on Carson Wentz performing well once again. Last week, Wentz came off the sidelines to throw three touchdowns and lead a comeback. This was with absolutely no productive practice reps since last season, due to the Vikings being more focused on Kyler Murray and JJ McCarthy’s QB battle. Now, he gets a full week of practice to prepare for a favorable matchup.
This Chicago defense has many saying Bryce Young deserves a large contract extension. Chicago allowed the fourth-most yards per pass attempt (9.3), and they only had a 5% sack rate. No offense to Young, but he is no elite talent; he had a great fantasy day. Wentz is more than capable of playing at a similar level. Also, not only are Minnesota’s pass catchers better than Carolina’s, but they may have the best receiving corps in football.
Sit: CJ Stroud Fantasy Outlook vs Bengals
Props to CJ Stroud, because his Week 1 performance against Buffalo has played him into fantasy relevance. Traditionally, a matchup against Cincinnati feels like a great opportunity as well. Unfortunately, he falls on the wrong side of our Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.
Stroud was able to pass for 274 yards and two touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills. This week, he sees a Cincinnati Bengals defense that looked much improved against a Tampa Bay team that was playing from behind the entire game. Cincinnati sacked Baker Mayfield four times and limited him to 216 yards with no touchdowns. Houston has a worse offensive line, and Stroud is not as talented as Mayfield.
So, the matchup does not seem great. On top of that, we now have a Nico Collins injury. Collins was injured in practice on Wednesday and is at risk of not playing in Week 2. Without his WR1, there is no reason to start CJ Stroud.
Sit: Trevor Lawrence Fantasy Outlook at Broncos
Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars looked phenomenal in Week 1. Unfortunately, a matchup against the Cleveland Browns is very different than what he will see against the Denver Broncos.
Yes, the Kansas City Chiefs had their way against Denver. However, the Chiefs were playing at home, got the ball out quickly and they ran the hell out of the ball. Lawrence will be playing in Denver, which is one of the toughest environments in the NFL for multiple reasons. The Jaguars also don’t have the ability to lean on the running game to set up the rest of their offense.
Lawrence will be asked to drop back and pass against a Broncos defense that was the best at rushing the passer last season. They ranked first in yards per pass attempt (5.4), second in completion rate (58%) and first in sack rate (10.4%). Even if Lawrence does have some success moving the ball, he will undoubtedly have a reduced ceiling. He will likely need a rushing touchdown to return start-worthy value, and I am not willing to bet on that.
Lower your expectations for Trevor Lawrence, and see if you have a better option for fantasy football Week 2.
