Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 17 QBs
Start: Jared Goff Fantasy Outlook vs. Bears
While it may not make you feel warm and fuzzy starting Jared Goff with all of the chips on the table, he has a few things working in his favor. First, he gets a matchup in Ford Field where he has performed very well throughout the season, averaging 21.6 fantasy points per game (fppg). Second, he gets to face the Chicago Bears, who are allowing 18.9 fppg to opposing QBs. Finally, he is coming off his best road start of the season where he put up 25.7 fantasy points, and he has a healthy surrounding cast. Goff is a clear start as a QB1 in our fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em analysis this week.
Start: Gardner Minshew Fantasy Outlook vs. Saints
Assuming Jalen Hurts misses another game, you can plug in Gardner Minshew as a QB1 after he performed very well for fantasy purposes last week, passing for 355 yards and two touchdowns en route to 24.7 fantasy points. With the Eagles vying for the top seed, look for them to come out strong against the New Orleans Saints, who allow 16.2 fppg to fantasy QBs. Make sure Hurts sits before lock, but Minshew makes for a nice play if he does.

Sit: Russell Wilson Fantasy Outlook vs. Chiefs
With the league championship on the line, you want to go with guys you trust. Despite a terrific matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, who are allowing 20.3 fppg to opposing QBs, Russell Wilson is tough to trust. Coming off a 214-yard passing game where he threw one touchdown and three interceptions, he has now finished as a QB1 exactly once in the last nine weeks he has started. Leave him on the bench this week.
Sit: Derek Carr Fantasy Outlook vs. 49ers
Derek Carr made the sit list last week, and after putting up only 9.4 fantasy points, he is back again this week. As previously mentioned, counting on Derek Carr in the fantasy playoffs is a risky proposition, as he has had multiple floor games this week with 2.9, 4.6, and now 9.4 fantasy points. With a matchup with the San Francisco 49ers looming, you need to look elsewhere this week.
