The fantasy football playoff progresses to Week 16, and your matchup will get a little bit tougher. There is no room for error this week, which may lead to plenty of questions when creating a starting lineup. To know who to start this week, keep reading for our Week 16 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em, including the Panthers’ Chuba Hubbard.

Obviously, there are some players who are must-start every single week, such as Christian McCaffrey, Tony Pollard and Travis Etienne. However, the RB2 and Flex positions are a bit more fluid, causing some tough decisions to be made. To help you through these tough decisions, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings and read on for our Week 16 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em analysis at RB.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 16 RBs

Start: Chuba Hubbard Fantasy Outlook vs Packers

The Carolina Panthers may not have a great offense, but they have committed to running the ball with Chuba Hubbard over the past few weeks. Hubbard has 24+ touches in three straight weeks. If he sees this kind of workload against the Green Bay Packers, we very well could see Carolina’s first winning streak of the season.

Death, taxes, and the Green Bay Packers getting run over. Green Bay has surrendered 4.6 yards per carry this season, and this spikes to 5.3 yards over the past three games. With De’Vondre Campbell likely out icing his vagina this week, the run defense gets a little bit worse. Not much worse, since he has played terribly, but a little bit (can you tell I’m a Packers fan? Listen to Lombardi Sweep).

Just start Chuba Hubbard in fantasy football this week.

Start: Austin Ekeler Fantasy Outlook vs Bills

Austin Ekeler is far from a must-start anymore. However, after the firing of Brandon Staley, Ekeler looks like a decent play against the Buffalo Bills. The Bills have surrendered the third-most yards per carry over the past three weeks (5.1). Ekeler is coming off of a terrible game, but he has acknowledged that he needs to put together good film ahead of free agency. With that in mind, the Chargers should get back to basics this week, and that likely means forcing Ekeler the ball as much as possible.

While I don’t believe this week be a performance like Ekeler would have put up in past years, it should be good enough to warrant a “start” in this week’s Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.

Sit: Saquon Barkley Fantasy Outlook vs Eagles

Yes, it’s crazy to sit Saquon Barkley if you are a fantasy owner, but I’m a little crazy. His placement in this Week 16 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article is more so me telling to to adjust your expectation for the New York Giants running back in a tough matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles’ run defense remains solid. They surrender the second-fewest fantasy points to RBs in the league. Obviously, the Giants’ offensive line isn’t very good, and this will lead to Barkley continuing to struggle against Philly. Saquon Barkley has not run for more than 40 yards against the Eagles in the regular season since 2019. That was the last time he scored against them as well. If this trend continues, you will wish he was on your bench.

Sit: Javonte Williams Fantasy Outlook vs Patriots

It has been a tough season for Javonte Williams fantasy football owners, and it’s not going to get better this week. It’s damn near impossible to run the ball against the New England Patriots this season. They have surrendered just 3.1 yards per carry this year, and that shrinks to 2.1 yards over the past three weeks. Williams isn’t a high touchdown producer either, so expect a low-yard, no-touchdown performance. Sit him or drop him.

Check my fantasy football rankings, since you may have a better option, such as the two “starts” in this Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article.
