The fantasy football playoff progresses to Week 16, and your matchup will get a little bit tougher. There is no room for error this week, which may lead to plenty of questions when creating a starting lineup. To know who to start this week, keep reading for our Week 16 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em, including the Giants’ Darren Waller.

Obviously, there are some players who are must-start every single week due to where you drafted them, such as TJ Hockenson, George Kittle and Travis Kelce. However, after the top couple of tiers at the tight end position, you may be playing the matchup more than the player himself. To help you through these tough decisions, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings and read on for our Week 16 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em analysis at TE.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 16 TEs

Start: David Njoku Fantasy Outlook at Texans

To some, David Njoku is a no-brainer fantasy football start in Week 16. Others remain unconvinced. Come on in, the water is fine!

Over the past two weeks, Njoku has been the TE1 in fantasy football. He leads the next player by a measly 14.2 fantasy points in PPR scoring. This means the difference between Njoku and the next-best TE is the same number of points as Dallas Goedert has scored, but there’s no need to bury Goedert right now. The point is that Joe Flacco is targeting Njoku a ton, and Njoku is also playing like a man on fire just a couple of weeks after literally being on fire.

The cherry on top for David Njoku being a “start” in this week’s Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em is the matchup. The Houston Texans have surrendered the third-most fantasy points to TEs this season.

Start: Darren Waller Fantasy Outlook at Eagles

Darren Waller returned to the field for the Giants last week. Despite playing just 42% of the snaps, he finished the game catching four of his six targets for 40 yards. He seemed to respond well to the playing time, so we can expect his snap share to increase the week against the Philadelphia Eagles.

While the Eagles are average against fantasy TE, Darren Waller runs the majority of his snaps in the slot or split out. At this point, I think we all know how the Eagles are the worst team in the league against fantasy WRs. On top of the easier matchup, the Eagles need a bounce-back offensive performance, which I think they do. If the Giants are chasing points, that makes this situation even nicer for Darren Waller fantasy football owners.

Sit: Dalton Schultz Fantasy Outlook vs Browns

The Cleveland Browns have a stingy defense, and this includes limiting tight ends really well. Over the entire season, Cleveland has surrendered just 380 receiving yards to the position. This is by far the lowest total in the league.

Given this tough matchup, Dalton Schultz may need to be on your bench this week. With Case Keenum running the offense once again, we know Houston wants to run the ball as much as possible. Expect a low-scoring game in this one, leading to a low touchdown upside and likely a low yardage total for Schultz.

Sit: Dallas Goedert Fantasy Outlook vs Giants

Dallas Goedert has been less than impressive since returning from injury, in terms of his fantasy football production. He has totaled just 30 receiving yards in each of these games, despite tying his season-high for targets last week (9).

This week, the Eagles face the New York Giants. I love this matchup for the Philly wide receivers. However, it is looking like a tough matchup for Goedert. The Giants have surrendered the fifth-fewest fantasy points to TEs this season. There are better options available than Goedert.
