In your first fantasy football playoff matchup, you don’t want a dud at the tight end position. Surprisingly, there are more viable fantasy football TE options than ever before. The evolution of NFL offenses, combined with the inexperience at starting quarterback, has led to a greater target share for the position. To know who to start this week, keep reading for our Week 15 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em, including Cleveland’s David Njoku.
Obviously, there are some players who are must-start every single week due to where you drafted them, such as TJ Hockenson, George Kittle and Travis Kelce. However, after the top couple of tiers at the tight end position, you may be playing the matchup more than the player himself. To help you through these tough decisions, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings and read on for our Week 15 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em analysis at TE.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 15 TEs
Start: David Njoku Fantasy Outlook vs Bears
Ever since David Njoku burnt his face off, he has been playing as if he is indestructible. He is running through defenders and making huge plays. But best of all, he is seeing consistent targets and the Cleveland Browns now have a competent quarterback.
Njoku has averaged 9.4 targets over the past five games, seeing no fewer than six targets in any game. At the tight end position, having a solid target share is a luxury. Njoku also showed his upside last week by catching two touchdowns. Play him with confidence against a Chicago Bears defense that has been average against the position this season.
Start: Chigoziem Okonkwo Fantasy Outlook vs Texans
While the fantasy football creators who declared Chigoziem Okonkwo one of the best sleepers this season, for some reason, are and have always been foolish, the second-year tight end has seen his role rise over the past few weeks. Okonkwo has turned 17 targets over the past three games into 12 receptions for 153 yards.
This week, the Tennessee Titans face off against the Houston Texans. Houston has surrendered the third-most fantasy points to tight ends this season. The Titans should be able to move the ball on the Texans as well, and multiple red zone trips mean Okonkwo has an increased potential to score a touchdown this week. That’s enough to land him in the top section of this week’s Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.

Sit: Cole Kmet Fantasy Outlook at Browns
To say the Cleveland Browns have been elite against the tight end position this season would be an understatement. Through 13 games, they have held the position to an average of 27.5 yards. Insane.
While Cole Kmet is a talented player, I don’t think he and the Chicago Bears will magically be the ones to reverse this trend. The Browns have been much better at home than on the road this season. Despite the injuries, I expect them to continue playing well, and that includes containing Cole Kmet.
Sit: Kyle Pitts Fantasy Outlook at Panthers
The Panthers have been terrific against wide receivers this season. They surrender the fifth-fewest fantasy points to the position. He’ll likely continue to catch about three passes. The yardage won’t be great and he won’t find the end zone. Pass.
