As we head down the stretch of the fantasy football season, having a reliable tight end that you can fully trust is a rarity. If you have one, congrats! However, if you don’t, keep reading for two possible options that have solid situations in the Week 14 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.

Obviously, there are some players who are must-start every single week due to where you drafted them, such as TJ Hockenson, George Kittle and Travis Kelce. However, after the top couple of tiers at the tight end position, you may be playing the matchup more than the player himself. To help you through these tough decisions, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings and read on for our Week 14 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em analysis at TE.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 14 TEs

Start: Dallas Goedert Fantasy Outlook at Cowboys

After sitting out the past several weeks due to a fractured forearm, it looks like Dallas Goedert will return for a big divisional game against the Dallas Cowboys. The last matchup with Dallas was when Goedert was injured, so he will look to take a bit of revenge this time around. If you own him, don’t worry about a get-right week. He is a “start” in this week’s Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.

Despite leaving the last game early, Goedert totaled 50 yards against the Cowboys. This means he has totaled 50 or more yards in three of his last four matchups with Dallas. With D’Andre Swift getting a little banged up, the red zone offense for Philly takes a little hit, and Dallas Goedert owners should cross their fingers hoping the return of Goedert means the Eagles utilize the tight end more in the money area of the field.

Start: Isaiah Likely Fantasy Outlook vs Rams

The Baltimore Ravens haven’t signed Zach Ertz, which is a move I thought Baltimore would be interested in. While it could still happen, the fact that it wasn’t made a necessity could indicate the team’s confidence in second-year tight end Isaiah Likely. While he hasn’t shown the most success playing with Lamar Jackson in his young career, the matchup this weekend is too good to pass up.

The Ravens face off against the Los Angeles Rams. LA surrenders the fifth-most fantasy points to TEs this season. In his previous game, Likely was targeted six times, leading to four catches for 40 yards. Baltimore probably used their bye week to get young players Isaiah Likely and Keaton Mitchell more involved in the offense, so hopefully, it leads to success this week.

Sit: Par Freiermuth Fantasy Outlook vs Patriots

Pat Freiermuth saw five targets last week, catching only three of them. This isn’t too impressive, and he doesn’t appear to have a consistent role in this offense for fantasy, but it’s not the biggest reason for Freiermuth landing in the bottom section of this week’s Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em. He plays tonight on Thursday Night Football against the New England Patriots, and I’m not 100 percent sure we see an offensive touchdown in the game.

This season, the Patriots surrender the fourth-fewest fantasy points to TEs. They have allowed just one receiving touchdown to a TE this year. It doesn’t appear Pat Freiermuth will break that trend, and he likely won’t get enough receptions to keep his fantasy value afloat without finding pay dirt.

Sit: Dalton Schultz Fantasy Outlook at Jets

It looks like Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz will return to the lineup this week, but you should wait to insert him in your starting lineup if at all possible. Schultz is returning from a hamstring injury, and I don’t love trusting someone in their immediate return from a hamstring injury. Also, the Texans are in must-win territory, and after the loss of Tank Dell, I’m just hoping Schultz isn’t coming back a week too soon.

If the Texans are wondering the same thing, they very well could manage his workload. With how well Brevin Jordan played last week, they could split the snaps between those two. I’m not interested in starting a part-time tight end. Because of the uncertainty. you may want to sit him.
