There are few easy weeks for fantasy football running backs, due to the number of injuries, poor offensive lines and backfield committees. Week 14 of the NFL season includes all of this, as well as a couple of teams on bye (ARI and WAS). As a result, you may have many questions surrounding your starting fantasy football lineups. That is where we come in, helping you with this Week 14 RB Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em analysis.

Obviously, there are some players who are must-start every single week, such as Christian McCaffrey, Tony Pollard and Travis Etienne. However, the RB2 and Flex positions are a bit more fluid, causing some tough decisions to be made. To help you through these tough decisions, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings and read on for our Week 14 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em analysis at RB.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 14 RBs

Start: Jaylen Warren Fantasy Outlook vs Patriots

Najee Harris has not practiced for the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. So, while the Steelers have already made it a point to get Jaylen Warren more involved, it may be the Jaylen Warren show on Thursday Night Football.

Pittsburgh faces off with the New England Patriots, which is an average matchup for fantasy RBs overall. Given the Patriots’ defensive schemes, this was already a game where Warren was likely to have more success than Harris running the ball. He should also catch a few passes. Regardless of the status of Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren once again is a “start” in our Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em, and I prefer him to Harris if both players are active.

Start: Ezekiel Elliott Fantasy Outlook at Steelers

On the other side of the Thursday Night Football matchup, Ezekiel Elliott is in line for an increased workload due to Rhamondre Stevenson being out. Once again, the matchup itself is average overall, but an increased role means increased intrigue for fantasy owners.

Ezekiel Elliott has played pretty well with limited work this season. He saw 21 touches last week, which resulted in 92 total yards. Elliott has showcased his ability to catch the football this season. So, not only should he serve as the short yardage back, which gives him touchdown potential, but he should also be an easy target for Bailey Zappe, as he gets rid of the ball before the Pittsburgh pressure gets home.

Sit: Breece Hall Fantasy Outlook vs Texans

The New York Jets offense is a disaster, and now they are beginning to get other running backs a little more involved. While Breece Hall is still the top dog in the backfield, he needs as many touches as possible to even be start-worthy in fantasy football.

This week, Hall is dealing with an ankle injury that has held him out of practice through Wednesday (the day this was written). It means his workload could be dialed back even more this week, or possibly he is less effective against the Houston Texans. On top of the injury and backfield split, Houston is giving up the third-fewest yards per carry this season (3.6). Their yards per carry allowed shrinks to 3.2 yards on the road as well, for whatever that is worth. While not a must-sit, you may have other players that are better than Breece Hall for fantasy football Week 14.

Sit: Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker Fantasy Outlook at 49ers

Injuries and a poor matchup collide for both Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker III this week. Walker has been sidelined with an oblique injury for a couple of weeks, leading to the rookie leading the backfield. That didn’t mean much in the first matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 12, and Charbonnet finished as RB29 in PPR scoring. Due to terrible scheduling, these two teams rematch just two weeks later.

The 49ers are the fifth-best fantasy defense against RBs this season, allowing 17/7 fantasy points to the position per game. Both Seahawks RBs were “able to do stuff” in practice on Wednesday. I have no idea what that means, but I do know they will be riding the bench for me, and I suggest the same for you.

Check my fantasy football rankings, since you may have a better option, such as the two “starts” in this Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article.
