Two weeks to go in most fantasy football regular seasons. Some teams have clinched their spots already and others are holding on to everything they have left. The tight end spot could be a make-or-break position for your playoff chances. Also, we are in bye-mageddon part one as six teams are on a bye this week. We here at FlurrySports are here to help. Below are the FlurrySports picks for Start ’em/ Sit ’em for the TE position.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 12 TEs
Start: Jonnu Smith Fantasy Outlook vs New England Patriots.
Jonnu Smith will make the start section this week. Jonnu Smith has become a monster on the Miami Dolphins offense. Since the Week 6 bye, he has scored 20+ fantasy points twice. His snap count has increased as well outside of the matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Last week he played 81 snaps and may have even taken away some targets from Jaylen Waddle.
On the other side of the ball is the New England Patriots. The Patriots are about the middle of the road when it comes to covering tight ends. The New England defense has given up the 13th-fewest points to TEs this season. In the previous matchup between the Patriots and Dolphins, Jonnu was able to score 11.1 points. Expect more of that this week and start Jonnu Smith.
Start: Sam LaPorta Fantasy Outlook vs Indianapolis Colts
The Detroit Lions tight end has disappointed fantasy owners this season. Sam LaPorta had a top-three pre-draft ranking at the tight end position this season but is currently ranked 17th in points. LaPorta has started to show some flashes of being that top tight end since the Lions’ bye. Excluding last week when he was out, he has scored double-digit points in three out of his last five games. At the moment, he is questionable, but a mild case of an AC joint injury should heal up by game time.
The Detroit Lions travel to Indianapolis for their Week 12 matchup. The Colts give up the sixth-most fantasy points per game this season to tight ends. The last couple of games the Colts have done a better job at covering TEs, but they have yet to see an offense as powerful as this Lions offense. If Laporta is able to go this week he needs to be started.

Sit: Tucker Kraft Fantasy Outlook vs San Francisco 49ers
The miracle run for Tucker Kraft looks to be over for the time being. In the last two games the Green Bay tight end has scored just over seven points combined against the Lions and Bears. Kraft seems to have fallen down outside of the favorite targets list. Having only one target last week while playing 93% of the snaps is not a great sign.
The Packers will host the San Francisco 49ers who give up the sixth-fewest points to the tight end position. Fred Warner and the 49ers have allowed just 9.36 points per game to the tight ends they have faced. Only three tight ends have scored more than 10 points in a game against this defense. Tucker Kraft should be an easy one to look away from this week.
Sit: Mark Andrews Fantasy Outlook vs Los Angeles Chargers
Mark Andrews will be a sit for us this week. Andrews started the season slow giving way to teammate Isaiah Likely. Andrews then got hot for four out of five games and came back down to earth against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. Andrews has helped out fantasy teams this far, but this week might be a tough task.
Andrews and the Ravens will travel cross-country to Sofi Stadium to play the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night. The Chargers have had moderate success at stopping tight ends, giving up the 12th-fewest fantasy points to the position. Since their Week 5 bye, the Chargers have given up double-digit points to TEs just once which was in Week 7 to Trey McBride. This is probably a defense you want to avoid, so bench Andrews this week.
