The tight end position for fantasy football has typically been pretty volatile. This is why many fantasy owners choose to stream the position. In order to help you make tough decisions at TE, we will go over a couple of Week 11 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em candidates below.

Obviously, there are some players who are must-start every single week due to where you drafted them, such as TJ Hockenson, Mark Andrews and Travis Kelce. However, after the top couple of tiers at the tight end position, you may be playing the matchup more than the player himself. To help you through these tough decisions, check out our weekly fantasy football rankings and read on for our Week 11 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em analysis at TE.

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 11 TEs

Start: Trey McBride Fantasy Outlook at Texans

Trey McBride was a featured “start” in last week’s Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em, and he is featured in this spot once again. We will see how large his role is once Zach Ertz returns, but for now, McBride is a target hog.

In Kyler Murray‘s return to the field, he peppered McBride with targets. He caught eight passes for 131, earning himself TE2 for the week despite not scoring a touchdown. The matchup with the Houston Texans this week is as good as it gets too, as they are tied for the defense that gives up the most fantasy points to tight ends. Start McBride with confidence for at least one more week.

Start: Luke Musgrave Fantasy Outlook vs Chargers

In the past couple of weeks, we have finally begun to see Jordan Love find Luke Musgrave, who has been wide open anytime he runs a route downfield. This has resulted in 115 yards over the past two games, and he also caught his first NFL touchdown as well.

This week, Luke Musgrave and the Packers face the Los Angeles Chargers. Since the Chargers’ offense scores plenty of points, Green Bay will be forced to be a bit aggressive and pass more often than they would like. This should lead to more production for Musgrave, who is in a terrific matchup. The Chargers are the fourth-worst against fantasy TEs this season, so Musgrave is a clear “start” in this week’s Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em.

Sit: Evan Engram Fantasy Outlook vs Titans

While it may be surprising to see Evan Engram listed as a “sit” in this Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em, his Week 11 outlook isn’t great. So, while he’s not a must-sit player by any means, you may have a better option than the Jacksonville Jaguars’ TE.

It looks like Zay Jones may return to the field this week despite his recent arrest. His return has directly impacted Engram in the past, causing him to see fewer targets. Additionally, the matchup against the Tennessee Titans is a tough one. The Titans surrender the second-fewest fantasy points to TEs in the league. They are the only team to not give up a touchdown to the position this year.

Sit: David Njoku Fantasy Outlook vs Steelers

The injury to Deshaun Watson has thrown a wrench into the fantasy football values of all Cleveland Brown pass-catchers, including David Njoku. While Njoku turned in a decent performance in Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s first career start, his upside is clearly limited.

The other issue is the matchup The Pittsburgh Steelers surrender the sixth-fewest fantasy points to tight ends. Additionally, due to the pressure Pittsburgh is able to generate, Cleveland may need to use the tight end to chip more often than they would like. This obviously limits his upside as a receiver for fantasy football even more.

Check my fantasy football rankings, since you may have a better option, such as the two “starts” in this Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em article.
