Every single Tuesday during August, we will be giving a fantasy football draft ADP update. ADP stands for Average Draft Position. We have typically been looking at the five biggest fallers and risers of the week. However, I don’t believe the fallers tell us much this week, so we will focus on the five best risers in the fantasy ADP over the past week for PPR leagues.
As the summer progresses, this data will become more accurate, relevant and important. For the fourth week of August, the fantasy football mock draft data has become much more accurate than in previous weeks.
With this in mind, let’s take a look at the five biggest risers from the past week in the fantasy football draft ADP for PPR leagues.
5 Biggest Weekly Risers | Fantasy Football Draft ADP
After looking at the fantasy football draft data over the past week, these are the top five risers in the ADP.
- New York Jets D/ST — Up 35.3 to 130.8, D/ST3 Overall
- Isiah Pacheco, RB, KC — Up 15.5 to 137.4, RB57 Overall
- Dameon Pierce, RB, HOU — Up 11.9 to 96.1, RB41 Overall
- George Pickens, WR, PIT — Up 11.5 to 145, WR58 Overall
- Brian Robinson, RB, WAS — Up 11.4 to 145.1, RB61 Overall
The biggest fantasy football draft ADP riser of the week is the New York Jets D/ST. Why? Who knows. Is it a mistake in the data by FantasyData? Possibly. Please don’t draft the New York Jets D/ST as the third one overall. In fact, don’t draft them at all.
Now, we have four rookies who have been impressive in the preseason. First, emerging out of nowhere, Isiah Pacheco has 14 yards on six carries, but he also has three receptions for 21 yards. Pacheco has seen snaps with the first-team offense, looking like the clear handcuff to Clyde Edwards-Helaire, at the very least.
Dameon Pierce has looked like the clear best RB in the Texans backfield so far this preseason. After running for 49 yards on five carries during the first week of the preseason, the Texans decided to rest him during Week 2. This is very good news. It’s possible Pierce begins the season as the starter. However, if he doesn’t, it shouldn’t take long for him to rise the ranks, much like how he has risen in the fantasy football draft ADP.
George Pickens is that dude. Pickens fell to the second round of the NFL Draft, and the Pittsburgh Steelers found yet another WR that can excel in the NFL. He will be starting for Pittsburgh, and the big, athletic receiver could quickly become a go-to option for the Steelers QB.
Brian Robinson is another rookie RB rising in the fantasy football ADP who expects to take snaps from the starter. Earlier in the offseason on our YouTube, I told you that Brian Robinson projects as the short-yardage and goal line option for the Washington backfield, taking another role away from Antonio Gibson. After totaling 57 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries, Robinson looks like the better pure runner right now and could find himself in an even timeshare sooner rather than later.
