3 Tips for Playing Dynasty Fantasy Football

May 30, 2026

With players continuing to participate in OTAs, the NFL is slowly coming to a head for the 2026-27 season. There are continued storylines that you need to be following if you play dynasty fantasy football. We continue to get news and ideas on how veterans and rookies alike will integrate into roles on their respective new teams.

With the continued news of the offseason, now is the time for you to take advantage of opportunities to both acquire and trade away players to build your championship lineup for the coming season. In situations like Green Bay, Tampa Bay and Seattle, now may be the time to trade away quarterbacks to cash in on as much value as you can.

With that being said, lets take a look at three dynasty fantasy football sell high trade options at the quarterback position that you should consider moving on from right now.

Dynasty Fantasy Football Sell High Trade Targets at QB

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers

In 2026 the Green Bay Packers will enter the fourth year of Jordan Love starting under center. Love came onto the scene hot in fantasy football, as he finished as QB5 on the season in 2023. Since then though, Love has failed to live up to those top-10 fantasy football conversations that have followed him, finishing as QB17 and QB15 in the last two seasons. The decline in the end of the season quarterback rankings makes sense given Green Bay’s preference of running the ball and Love not having a great supporting cast around him.

Love, who turns 28 in November, enters the 2026-27 season with a worse offensive line, run game and receiving weapons around him. Green Bay lost both Elgton Jenkins and Rasheed Walker in free agency. Meanwhile, Josh Jacobs’ status is uncertain and Green Bay has not replaced Romeo Doubs or Dontayvion Wicks yet. All of this is on top of the Packers’ second-best offensive weapon, Tucker Kraft, coming off of a torn ACL.

Given that expectations in Green Bay are always going to be to win the Super Bowl and that Love will be only 28 in November, there is still value surrounding the Utah State alum. The issue is that if the offense sputters this season, his value in dynasty fantasy football is only going to drop. At this point in his career, this may be the last time that you will be able to move Love for something valuable.

Almost everyone would rank Love ahead of players like Jared Goff and Dak Prescott in dynasty. However, if you can get a QB of that caliber in addition to a 2nd round pick or similar, you have to take it, because it is hard to say that Love definitely outscores Goff and Prescott this season.

Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

At this point last season, I was on the front lines of the Baker Mayfield MVP push, as well as predicting that the Buccaneers were going to win the Super Bowl. Obviously that did not come to be as Tampa Bay looked like one of the worst teams in the NFL down the stretch last season. Even though he played in 17 games last season, Mayfield finished as QB12 in fantasy football. His two previous seasons, he finished as QB10 and QB4. It is easy to chalk Mayfield’s disappointing season up to poor offensive line play, as well as injuries at the receiver position. I would argue that not much has changed this year to help his case.

This will be the first season since 2014 that Tampa is suiting up without Mike Evans on the outside. While Emeka Egbuka had a solid rookie season, the jury is still out on if he can be the Mike Evans-esque player in the Buccaneers offense. It is also a little concerning to hear that Bucky Irving is not fully participating in OTAs yet, but he will be ready by training camp. Even if he is ready by training camp, it is hard to believe that Irving comes into the season as a three-down back.

It really seems like the Bucs are in the midst of a big season for their future, as if they falter again it may be time to switch some things up and move on from some of their key contributors over the last couple of seasons. Similar to the Jordan Love situation, this might be the last time that you can sell Mayfield for high value in dynasty fantasy football, so testing the waters to see what you can get for him is not a bad idea, especially if there is someone in your league who needs a QB1.

Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks

After struggling early in his career with the New York Jets, Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers, Sam Darnold has put together two great seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks. While Darnold has put together 28 regular season wins over the past two seasons, his fantasy football performances have not necessarily lived up to what you would think a 28-win quarterback would be.

Over the last two seasons, Darnold has finished as QB9 and QB13, which is not bad by any means, but it is not the greatest thing that you have ever seen. Seattle comes into the 2026-27 season without Klint Kubiak, who is now with the Raiders. That means that Darnold is set to start this season with a new offensive coordinator, which brings some mystery on what he is going to be in fantasy football this season.

Right now, Darnold’s dynasty fantasy football value is at an all-time high, so now is the time that you need to see what you can get for him in a trade. Darnold’s value sits around a first-round pick for 2026 or 2027. You can probably get someone to overpay for that if they are in desperate need of a QB in your league. If you are telling me that I can get a first round pick and a player in exchange for Darnold, I am taking that every single time.
