    Day’Ron Sharpe Draft Profile

    Strengths

Day’Ron Sharpe brings plenty of highly sought-after big man skills to the table as a 2021 NBA Draft prospect. He finishes well at the rim and also is an effective screen setter. He could fit nicely into a pick-and-roll scheme at the pro level. Sharpe is also a tenacious offensive rebounder. He has a great second jump, tracks the ball well, and boxes out with force on the defensive glass. His agility and quickness on the defensive end is impressive for a player of his size. Sharpe displays keen awareness as an off-ball defender and can also rise up to protect the rim as a shot blocker.

    Weaknesses

When it comes to scoring, Sharpe is rather limited to close-range shots. He does not have any semblance of a three-point shot at this time and also struggles to convert from the foul line. He doesn’t take care of the basketball that well, evidenced by his turnover stats from college. He can also stand to improve upon his defensive fundamentals. Harnessing the intangibles will be vital to maximizing his athletic abilities.
