It was a relatively tame NFL Free Agency, but all 32 teams now have their attention directed toward the 2023 NFL Draft in order to add talent to their rosters. The first round of the draft is kicking off on Thursday, April 27th. Of course, draft analysis, projections and rumors will be dominating the NFL news until then. Among the players expected to hear his name called early on is Dawand Jones out of Ohio State.

The following is a complete Dawand Jones NFL Draft profile, including college highlights and a mock projection.

Dawand Jones Draft Profile

Strengths

We have to begin with the size of Dawand Jones. At 6-8, 374 pounds, Jones is an absolute load. He uses his strength to make the first contact with defenders, and he has the strength to move them. For his size, Jones does move pretty well. He keeps his feet moving through contact.

Weaknesses

While Jones is built like a mountain and moves well for his size, he is still not very athletic. Jones has heavy feet and he has the tendency to grab when he is out of position. His hand technique is not great, which means he doesn’t fully take advantage of his length, which is his biggest strength. Teams will need to give him help on passing snaps that need longer to develop.
