When is the 2025 NFL Draft?
The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 24, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. The draft will take place in Green Bay, WI, which brings plenty of potential challenges. Only Round 1 will take place on Thursday. Rounds 2-3 will take place on April 25th, with the remaining four rounds wrapping up on Sunday, April 26th. There will be 257 players selected across the seven rounds, with many more getting phone calls immediately afterward.

Strengths
Porter’s biggest strength is obviously his athleticism. He ranked second among cornerbacks at the 2025 NFL Combine with an athleticism score of 93. Darien Porter is tall, blazing fast and strong as well.
Another big strength of his that is unusual for a cornerback is his ability to block kicks. Across his six years at Iowa State, he has blocked five kicks. Even though he has only played cornerback as a starter for one season, he has already shown great ability at playing zone at the position.
Weaknesses
The biggest knock on Porter is his lack of experience at both the position overall and at playing man coverage. Learning the position in college is hard enough, but learning it at the NFL level is an entirely different beast. He’s not the best tackler and often struggles with being able to cover complex routes from receivers as well.
