One of the most highly anticipated NFL betting matchups in Week 14 is the NFC East Division showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Football Team. Just a few weeks ago, this division was Dallas’ to lose. Well, the Cowboys have now dropped three of their last five games. That slump has coincided with a four-game winning streak by Washington that suddenly has Sunday’s head-to-head matchup looming large. Of course, the storied history and bitter disdain that lies beneath this rivalry only add to the drama and anticipation. The NFL betting odds have installed the visitors as modest favorites ahead of this Cowboys vs Washington battle.

The following Cowboys vs Washington NFL betting preview will give you the current odds, betting trends and picks for the Week 14 matchup, along with a stream link to watch games all season long.

Dallas Cowboys Preview

The Cowboys were able to snap a brief two-game losing streak with a win over the depleted New Orleans Saints last Thursday night. Since Mike McCarthy wasn’t even on the sidelines for that game, hopefully, we can stop with the ridiculous take that he is deserving of winning Coach of the Year. In reality, it was an ugly game for Dallas. The 10-point margin of victory probably should have been a lot greater considering how shorthanded the Saints were. The win allowed the Cowboys to maintain a two-game lead in the division coming into Sunday’s NFL betting showdown.

Just when the Cowboys are finally getting their top wideouts healthy, the backfield is dealing with injuries. Last Thursday marked the first time since Week 1 that each of Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup were all active and on the field together. Unfortunately, Tony Pollard, who had another very efficient outing, tore his plantar fascia and is questionable for Sunday. That injury is compounded by the fact that lead RB Ezekiel Elliott has been playing through a knee injury of his own for the better part of two months. The Cowboys will need their passing attack and defense to step up in this key divisional contest.

Washington Football Team Preview

It may not always be pretty, but Washington is as hot as any team in the NFL. A game-winning field goal in the final minute last week propelled the Football Team to their fourth consecutive victory. A head-to-head win over the Cowboys, the team Washington is chasing in the NFC East, would really make things interesting down the stretch. If there’s one thing for certain, it is that Taylor Heinicke has given Ron Rivera and the coaching staff a lot to think about with regard to the future of their quarterback position. The former UDFA may not always be flashy, but he continues to manage the offense in a composed manner.

Heinicke and the offense have also benefitted from a rejuvenated rushing attack in recent weeks. Although J.D. McKissic remains in concussion protocol, Antonio Gibson has put together two solid games in the past two weeks. Look for Washington to lean heavily on him again in this NFL betting matchup as they try to wear down the Dallas defense. How the Football Team has continued to improve defensively after losing Chase young to a torn ACL is truly mind-boggling. Washington has been particularly strong against the run, ranking eighth in adjusted efficiency. That is bad news for a Dallas backfield that is at far less than 100% coming in. If Washington can contain Dak Prescott and the aerial attack, one has to like their chances of making this a very competitive game.
