Tyler Smith Draft Profile
Strengths
Simply, Tyler Smith is a bully on the football field. He possesses rare power and strength, showing the ability to move anyone and everyone. Despite being listed at 324 pounds, Smith shows great flexibility, getting under the pads of edge rushers at many different angles. Along with the power he brings in his blocks, Smith also may have the strongest hands in the draft. Once he latches onto you, you’re not getting away.
Weaknesses
There is absolutely zero consistency with Tyler Smith. He could look like a top-10 pick one play and a Day 3 pick the snap after. His fundamentals are also completely off. The team that drafts him will be in for a project, though the project could yield great rewards. He carries his hands by his side in pass protection, for some reason. He also got 13 holding penalties last season, so get ready for him to be flagged early and often in the NFL.

What to Expect From Tyler Smith in 2022
As stated above, Tyler Smith is as strong as an ox. If he gets his hands on you in the running game, he is going to move you wherever he wants. If you try to bull rush him, you’re likely out of luck. However, Smith’s lack of consistency and discipline will cause fans and his team headaches. He may not start for the Cowboys this season. There are plenty of red flags that point to him being a project for this year. However, with enough coaching, it’s possible he turns into a great player in this league. It may not be at tackle, however.
