Kwity Paye Draft Profile

Strengths

Kwity Paye has shown clear improvement every single season, making him a great prospect for a young defense. He has a strong build for an edge rusher, packed with a lot of power. His bull rush will make it a long day for any offensive tackle. Paye is also able to sink low on tackles and play the run as well.

Weaknesses

While Paye’s bull rush technique is great, he doesn’t bring much else. He hasn’t shown the ability to set up offensive linemen, and his main strategy is to use his power and build to go through his matchup. While Paye is built strong, he hasn’t had much success on the interior at all, meaning he is a true edge, but he doesn’t have the arsenal of moves that most top edge rusher draft prospects do.

What to Expect From Kwity Paye in 2021

Kwity Paye has shown improvement as a player every single season at Michigan. This is a point of emphasis for this Colts team, which continues to find a develop talent, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The Colts defense last season was strong and they are looking good for this season, but they needed an edge rusher. This was a perfect fit for this team, and Kwity Paye could be causing trouble in the AFC South all season long. He will have talent around him, allowing his to see one-on-ones with offensive linemen. This is something he did not get last season with the Wolverines.

He is a Day 1 contributor for this defense. Paye also helps to round out a defensive unit that is good enough to win a Super Bowl, especially if they get strong quarterback play to help them out.
