Colorado State vs Michigan Prediction | March Madness Picks and Bracketology

Not only did the NCAA Tournament selection committee let Michigan skip over the First Four, but they also gave them an extremely favorable First Round matchup. Gee, when have we seen it happen before where an undeserving team gets a cheap matchup to “justify” the committee’s decision?

Why is Colorado State such a favorable opponent for Michigan you ask? It really comes down to the Rams’ lack of size. David Roddy is as strong as they come and backs up his bulky frame with a terrific shooting stroke. He led CSU with 19.7 points per game this season. Here’s the problem though: Roddy is only listed at 6’5″. The Rams do not have a capable big man anywhere on their roster.

This First Round game will force Colorado State to get creative in how they defend Michigan center Hunter Dickinson. The towering 7’1″ sophomore led the Wolverines with 18.3 points per game this season. Despite the topsy-turvy season that was for Michigan basketball, the personnel of these two teams lends one to believe the Wolverines will win fairly comfortably to advance.

Our college basketball betting Colorado State vs Michigan prediction tonight will be Michigan -2.5 at BetUS

For what it’s worth, the ESPN Matchup Predictor gives Michigan a 73.1% chance to win.
