NBA Western Conference Quarterfinals NBA Playoffs Game 3 (DAL leads 2-0)
Los Angeles Clippers (47-27, 21-15 Away) vs. Dallas Mavericks (44-30, 21-15 Home)
Date: Friday, May 28, 2021
Start Time: 9:30 p.m. EST
Venue: American Airlines Center — Dallas, TX

What on Earth is the matter with the Clippers? After the debacle in last year’s postseason of blowing a 3-1 series lead and exiting before the Western Conference Finals, Los Angeles once again is in danger of suffering a very disappointing end to their season. Losing the first two games of an NBA Playoffs series is one thing. Losing them both on your home floor as NBA betting favorites is a whole different level. Kawhi Leonard can’t take any of the blame here. He’s been terrific, including a Game 2 performance that saw him put up 41 points, grab six rebounds and dish out four assists. Paul George also played well in the Game 2 loss, scoring 28 points and grabbing 12 boards. Unfortunately, other than their big two, the Clippers have gotten slim to no production from their supporting cast. Reggie Jackson was the only other player besides Leonard and George to score in double figures on Tuesday.

The Clippers’ lack of a balanced offensive attack has been exposed even more due to the fact that the Mavericks have used a total team effort to take a commanding 2-0 series lead. Of course, Luka Doncic has been front and center. Game 2 saw the young star scored 39 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists. Running mate Kristaps Porsingis checked in with 20 points, but unlike the Clippers, he was far from the only other Dallas player making massive contributions. Tim Hardaway Jr. exploded for 28 points and also passed out five assists on Tuesday. Center Maxi Kleber rounded out the four Mavs in double figures with 13 points.
