In a season where the concept of home-court advantage has been somewhat obsolete, the NBA playoffs series between the Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks has taken it to another level. After L.A. triumphed in Game 3 on Friday, road teams have now won each of the first three games of this Western Conference series. The Clippers will try to level things off at two games apiece with another road win on Sunday night. For the Mavericks, tonight is critical to maintaining the early series advantage they worked so hard to earn. This NBA betting preview for the Clippers vs Mavericks NBA Playoffs matchup will provide game info, betting trends, odds and a prediction for Game 4 of this series.
Western Conference First Round NBA Playoffs Game 4 (DAL leads 2-1)
Los Angeles Clippers (48-27, 22-15 Away) vs. Dallas Mavericks (44-31, 21-16 Home)
Date: Sunday, May 30, 2021
Start Time: 9:30 p.m. EST

Coverage: TNT
It appears that the Clippers have some fight left in them after all. After throwing many in the NBA betting community for a total loop by dropping Games 1 and 2 of this series on their home floor, Los Angeles fell behind by some 20 points early on in Game 3. Just when it appeared they were truly going to roll over, L.A. came storming back. Kawhi Leonard was once again phenomenal on Friday with 36 points. Paul George wasn’t far behind with 29. Best of all, the Clippers finally got some scoring production from their supporting cast. Reggie Jackson was moved to the starting lineup and delivered with 16 points and 4 assists. Marcus Morris Sr. also got in on the act, drilling a trio of 3-pointers to finish with 15 points in the win. The fact that the Clippers managed to get the victory without center Serge Ibaka makes it all the more impressive.
While Los Angeles was able to get a boost from some non-superstars, the Mavericks were mostly a one-man show on Friday. Luka Doncic is just different. He went off for 44 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists in Game 3, coming about as close to a triple-double as it gets. To watch Doncic put up that kind of production in the NBA Playoffs at age 22 is truly special. Unfortunately, he got very little help from the rest of his Dallas teammates in the loss. Maxi Kleber and Jalen Brunson supplied 14 points while Tim Hardaway Jr. finished with 12 to round out those in double figures. Kristaps Porzingis was ineffective over the course of 34 minutes. He will need to be better if the Mavericks are going to see their early series lead through to the end as NBA betting underdogs.
