The Eastern Conference Finals have morphed from a best-of-seven series to now being a best-of-three. Both the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat managed to win two of the first four games in this series between the teams. Now, both sides find themselves two victories away from a spot in the 2022 NBA Finals. While the series may be tied up at two games apiece, a lot of the stats from the first four matchups seem to suggest that Boston is the better team. As a result, the Celtics vs Heat betting odds favor the visitors with their Game 5 prediction. The Celtics vs Heat injury report could also play a factor in Wednesday night’s Game 5 showdown.

Below, we will go over our Celtics vs Heat prediction, the injury report for both teams, NBA betting odds from BetUS Sportsbook, a free stream for the NBA Playoffs and much more!

Celtics vs Heat Prediction

Despite the Celtics vs Heat betting odds continuing to suggest close games, this series has provided anything but thus far. Only Game 3 had a final margin of victory that was smaller than 11 points. One has to give the Celtics credit for the incredible bounce-back performance they achieved in Game 4 at home. Jayson Tatum showed up and showed out at both ends of the floor to lead the winning effort. From a team defense standpoint, the Celtics clamped down right away, holding Miami to just 11 first-quarter points.

While the Heat were able to survive in Game 3 to effectively reclaim home-court advantage, the developments from Saturday’s game were not all positive for Miami. The team’s best player, Jimmy Butler, did not play in the second half of Game 3 with knee swelling. This has plagued him throughout the season and even forced him to miss a playoff game in the First Round against Atlanta.

Although Butler is not listed on the Game 5 Celtics vs Heat injury report, his lack of production on Monday night is cause for concern. Butler scored just six points in the blowout loss, showed very little explosion when attacking the rim and was clearly still bothered by the knee injury. The Heat were also without NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award winner Tyler Herro in Game 4. He is officially questionable to play tonight with that same groin injury.

As for the Celtics, despite being without Marcus Smart for the second time in this series on Monday, they were still able to suffocate Miami defensively. A huge factor in this was the return of center Robert Williams III. Just two nights after Bam Adebayo destroyed Boston inside, Williams managed to shut him down entirely in Game 4. If Williams is able to go in Game 5, one has to give the Celtics an edge. The fact that Boston is favored on the road ahead of Game 5 says a lot about how the market views these two teams after four games.
