Bucks vs Celtics Prediction
As the series has gone on, the Celtics have made more adequate adjustments and have clearly been the better team. One could easily argue that the series should already have been decided in Boston’s favor. When it comes down to it, the Bucks are probably missing Khris Middleton more the longer this series has gone.
One of the greatest strengths of the post-trade deadline Celtics is their depth and versatility. In Game 6, Boston’s three best players took control of the game. A similar effort from Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart on Sunday would be massive for the Celtics’ chances of moving on to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Of course, playing against the Celtics’ defense over a seven-game series is nothing but an arduous grind. If there was ever a game in which that grind seemed to get the better of the Bucks, it was Game 6. Aside from Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee’s offense was in shambles. The “Greek Freak” accounted for 44 of the Bucks’ 95 total points in Game 6. Jrue Holiday and Pat Connaughton were the only other Bucks players who managed to score in double figures.
While the Celtics are the deeper team in terms of playmakers and much more sound defensively, one cannot overlook the fact that Milwaukee still has a tremendous advantage inside. Only once in this series has Boston actually outscored the Bucks in the paint. Oddly enough, that happened in Game 5, a matchup that the Bucks ultimately stole. A bounce-back game offensively from Bobby Portis and Brook Lopez is critical for the Bucks to have a shot in Game 7.
Bucks vs Celtics Prediction: Celtics 103, Bucks 99
