Bucks vs Celtics Prediction
The Celtics have every reason to be concerned based on how Game 1 of this series played out. Not only did they get housed on their home floor, but it was a game in which Giannis Antetokounmpo was far from great for Milwaukee. Sure, the “Greek Freak” finished with a triple-double. Yet, he only scored 24 points on 9-25 shooting. It seems likely to anticipate that he will be much better going forward in this series.
Boston surged to the 2-seed in the Eastern Conference after a lackluster first half of the season thanks to superb defensive play. Among the Bucks vs Celtics stats to note is the fact that the C’s ranked second in the NBA in both scoring defense and defensive efficiency. In the First Round of these playoffs, the Celtics harrassed Brooklyn’s Kevin Durant into being virtually ineffective by his standards. It will take a similar team defensive effort on Antetokounmpo if Boston hopes to advance to the conference finals.
Unfortunately, accomplishing said defensive effort is much easier said than done. Even without Khris Middleton available, the Bucks still have a tremendous advantage when it comes to size and length in the frontcourt. Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis and Brook Lopez all finished with double-digit boardss in Game 1 as the Bucks held a six-rebound advantage for the game overall. The Celtics desperately need Robert Williams to make an impact in his return from injury. The urgency to split Games 1 and 2 at home will aid Boston in a big way tonight. That being said, a victory will be far from easy to achieve.
Bucks vs Celtics Prediction: Celtics 99, Bucks 96
