Even though the 2021 NBA Finals are in full swing, the NBA Draft is quickly approaching. The Brooklyn Nets are searching for ways to make their championship push.

The following is a complete look at the Brooklyn Nets needs, as we approach the 2021 NBA Draft and Free Agency.

    Brooklyn Nets Free Agents

Here is a list of the players who are upcoming Nets free agents that will either need to be re-signed or replaced.

    • Spencer Dinwiddie, PG
    • Mike James, PG (RFA)
    • Chris Chiozza, PG (RFA)
    • Tyler Johnson, G
    • Bruce Brown Jr., SG (RFA)
    • Reggie Perry, F (RFA)
    • Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, F
    • Jeff Green, PF
    • Blake Griffin, PF

The Brooklyn Nets may need to sustain some losses in free agency to make salaries work. A sign-and-trade with Spencer Dinwiddie may yield a decent return. The Nets should also look to bring back either Jeff Green or Blake Griffin this season as well. Ultimately, the Nets were a few injuries away from making a NBA Finals run, so they need to focus on bringing back the right veteran or two like they did last season.

    Brooklyn Nets Draft Targets

    Miles McBride

Miles McBride has been quietly rising in draft boards after a successful combine. McBride is a tall point guard, at 6-2, but he boasts a 6-8 wingspan. He is both quick on his feet and stout enough to take on contact as a defender. McBride is also a decent three-point shooter (41.4% last season). He could provide the Nets with some solid minutes off the bench. In the latest Bleacher Report mock draft by Jonathan Wasserman, McBride is currently projected to be drafted by the Nets at No. 27 overall.

    Ayo Dosunmo

At the NBA level, Ayo Dosunmo provides the size and speed to guard both the point guard and shooting guard positions. His shooting form needs work, but he is capable of streaky shooting. He has been a polarizing player for draft projections, as Dosunmo was a star at Illinois, but many evaluate him as a player very differently.
