Brian Asamoah Draft Profile

Strengths

Brian Asamoah’s best quality as a defender is the ability to find the ball carrier and pursue him wherever they happen to be on the field. He excels during sideline to sideline movement and takes favorable angles when chasing players down. He is constantly in control of his body, allowing him to miss very few tackles and deliver hits with violent intentions.

Weaknesses

One of the biggest criticism against Asamoah is his resemblance to a defensive back, without the ability to cover well. He is not strong or imposing enough to go through blocks and must always find a way around, often putting him out of position or reach for a tackle. He often lacks the ability to read a player’s true intentions, which results in falling for fakes or selling out on a player in motion who is simply there as a distraction.
