Houston has been one of the most disappointing teams in all of college football this season. However, the Cougars’ offense still packs a punch. Thanks largely to the presence of senior quarterback, Clayton Tune, Houston ranks 47th in the country in passing yards per game. Tune’s primary weapons, Nathaniel ‘Tank’ Dell and Samuel Brown, combine to form one of the top wide receiver duos in the Group of 5. In Week 8, the Cougars will be fresh off a bye when they travel east to face Navy.
This year’s version of the Midshipmen defense leaves a whole lot to be desired, specifically against the pass. Coming into this game, Navy has given up the 17th-most passing yards per game (291.6) of any team in the country. Opposing QBs have thrown for at least 267 yards in each of Navy’s four games against American Athletic Conference teams to date. Tune, himself, has thrown for at least 249 yards in four of six games and figures to have a field day against the atrocious Midshipmen secondary.

Dae Dae Hunter OVER 70.5 Rushing Yards
Saturday afternoon’s clash between FBS Independents BYU and Liberty figures to be a compelling watch. PrizePicks has a few interesting college football DFS picks available for the game as well, including an over/under line of 70.5 rushing yards for Liberty’s Dae Dae Hunter. The sophomore tailback has certainly thrived in his first season playing for Hugh Freeze after transferring from Hawaii. The Flames went into last week’s game against FCS-level Gardner-Webb with the intention of limiting Hunter’s workload in advance of playing BYU. Based on BYU’s defensive struggles, another big game figures to be in store for Hunter this week. The Cougars come in ranked 107th defensively against the run, allowing a hefty average of 189.6 yards per game.
Xazavian Valladay OVER 96.5 Rushing Yards
For readers of last week’s college football DFS picks column, the general premise of this next selection may look familiar. Once again, we are looking to fade the awful Stanford run defense. Because of how Notre Dame elected to divvy up touches amongst multiple running backs, our PrizePicks prop fell short in that game. As far as Arizona State is concerned, it’s much easier to rely on senior RB Xazavian Valladay getting the lion’s share of the workload.
To date, Valladay has surpassed the 100-yard mark on the ground in four of six games. He has also toted the ball at least 15 times in all but one contest. The Wyoming transfer is clearly the focal point of what is a run-heavy offense. The Sun Devils inability to competitive hindered Valladay’s workload in prior games. However, ASU doesn’t figure to be trailing big on the scoreboard against Stanford. Speaking of Stanford, the Cardinal come in allowing a gaudy 205.2 rushing yards per game defensively.
Jack Plummer OVER 260.5 Passing Yards
Although California has struggled to score points offensively, quarterback Jack Plummer has had several solid statistical performances. Overall, the Purdue transfer has thrown for at least 245 yards in five of six games on the year.
