Moses Brown Over 9.5 Rebounds (-143)

The Cleveland Cavaliers are playing out the stretch of the regular season without each of their top two bigs. Both Jarrett Allen and rookie Evan Mobley will remain sidelined for a very winnable game this evening against the Orlando Magic. Given the absences, Moses Brown has been thrust into the starting lineup recently. So far, it’s hard to argue with the results he has been providing.

Brown has nearly achieved double-double lines in each of the last four games. With increased minutes in each of the last three contests, Brown has finished with no fewer than 12 rebounds. The 22-year-old should be in line for at least 25 minutes again this evening considering the lack of depth the Cavs are currently dealing with in the frontcourt. However, it’s worth pointing out that he still managed to snare 12 boards despite playing only 20 minutes in the team’s most recent game.

In terms of the matchup, Orlando ranks 27th in the NBA in terms of Rebound Rate on the season. Thus, there are multiple reasons to look to the over on Brown’s NBA player props total of 9.5 rebounds. He should have little trouble asserting himself on the glass against the awful Magic in this contest.

Kyrie Irving Under 6.5 Assists (-103)

It may seem contrarian to bet any NBA player props to the under in a matchup against the Houston Rockets. This sentiment only grows stronger when one considers a superstar offensive talent like Kyrie Irving. However, both the personnel situation that the Brooklyn Nets are facing combined with the porous defense they face actually suggest that there might be value in betting under 6.5 assists for Irving tonight.

During his abbreviated campaign, Irving has averaged 5.6 assists per contest. While he has dished out at least six helpers three times in the last five games, only once has he successfully eclipsed the NBA betting line of 6.5. One could make the argument that the absences of Goran Dragic and Seth Curry in tonight’s game would only lead Irving to dish more assists.

The reverse argument to this begs the question of who, exactly, would Irving be passing to? Outside of Irving himself and Kevin Durant, the reliable scoring weapons on the Nets roster are scarce. Considering that the Rockets are the worst defensive team in the league, perhaps Irving will simply look to attack and score himself. He certainly figures to have no trouble doing so in this matchup. The fact that he would need to exceed his per-game assists average by 1.4 dimes to achieve the bare minimum necessary to hit the over only adds to this NBA betting picks handicap.

Tyus Jones Over 2.5 Rebounds (-164)

The proof is in the pudding when it comes to the ability of Memphis Grizzlies point guard Tyus Jones to go over tonight’s NBA player props rebound total of 2.5. With heavy juice accompanying the over on this prop across the NBA picks market, it is clear that this is the preferred side once again.

In all honesty, it’s a bit surprising that oddsmakers have not bumped the total up an additional rebound. After all, Jones has amassed four rebounds or more in each of his last four games played. Add in a three-rebound performance before that and he has successfully cleared the NBA props line in five of the last six contests. That same span of games correlates exactly to when Jones took over as the starting point guard in Memphis. Given that Ja Morant remains sidelined with an injury, Jones is once again in line to log plenty of minutes tonight.

Tonight will see the Grizz match up with a reeling Utah Jazz squad in a matchup between the top two rebounding teams in the NBA. While this suggests a difficult game for guards like Jones to have an impact on the glass, high-level rebounding opponents have not deterred him recently. The 25-year-old finished with four rebounds apiece against both Golden State and Milwaukee during his time as the starter. Both of those teams join Memphis and Utah with top-five Rebound Rate rankings on the season.
