Best NBA Betting Player Props for Tonight, 3/9

All NBA betting player props odds are taken from BetOnline Sportsbook

Cade Cunningham Under 5.5 Assists (-107)

One has to give rookie No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham credit. Despite being the focal point of a miserable Detroit Pistons team, he has found a way to put up solid numbers in his maiden professional season. The fact that Cunningham got off to such a slow start only makes his turnaround all the more impressive. In fact, he achieved a double-double with points and assists just two nights ago by dishing 10 dimes.

That output was nearly double the 5.2 assists that Cunningham has averaged per game this season. Considering that he had only topped the NBA player props line of 5.5 once in the five games prior to Monday, there is good reason to pursue betting the under. While dishing out 10 helpers in any game is impressive, it is worth noting that Cunningham’s effort came against the Atlanta Hawks.

Atlanta’s defense has been a sieve this season, allowing nearly 112 points per 100 possessions. Tonight, the Pistons take on a Chicago Bulls team that has also struggled defensively. That being said, Cunningham would still need to exceed his season assists average by nearly one full tally in order to top the NBA betting picks total.

Robert Williams III Under 11.5 Rebounds (-121)

One of the less-heralded players that have been a huge part of the Boston Celtics turnaround is center Robert Williams III. He may not score a ton, but the 24-year-old’s constant hustle has been key to the team’s overall success.

Williams has been a force on the glass all season long, to the tune of averaging 9.8 rebounds per game. He has exceeded his own production quite frequently of late. In Williams’ last eight games played, he has finished with 11+ boards on six occasions. He did fall short in Boston’s most recent game on Sunday, however, as he finished with eight rebounds across 37 minutes.

The primary argument for looking to bet the under on 11.5 rebounds for Williams this evening is that the NBA player props total is simply set too high. Despite having four double-digit rebound games since the All-Star break, Williams has only eclipsed this NBA betting line twice. Exceeding his own per-game average by over two full boards to push this prop over is much easier said than done.

Isaiah Roby Over 12.5 Points (-114)

It was just last week that Oklahoma City Thunder center Isaiah Roby piled up 21 points in a matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves. After missing a single game with a sore lower back, Roby returned last night and managed to score another dozen points despite only playing 26 minutes. With the Thunder depth chart severely depleted, expect Roby to be a go once again in the second game of the back-to-back tonight.

The same depleted depth chart that sees OKC desperately needing Roby on the floor is the one that will continue to afford him significant playing time. After a lighter load last night, it would not be a shock to see Roby play 30+ minutes this evening. The other thing to note for this NBA player props prediction is the fact that Roby only attempted seven total shots yesterday. That number is bound to rise again as well.

From an opposition standpoint, the Timberwolves afford a couple of things that bode well for betting NBA props to the over. First and foremost, Minnesota is tied for the fastest Pace Factor ranking of any team. In addition, the Wolves are a mediocre defensive team, particularly when it comes to slowing down opposing big men.
