Best NBA Betting Player Props for Tonight, 3/8

All NBA betting player props odds are taken from BetOnline Sportsbook

Seth Curry Over 11.5 Points (-122)

The NBA player props oddsmakers have dropped the scoring totals for Seth Curry down in the wake of Kevin Durant making his return. While this adjustment is completely justified, one still can’t help but believe Curry has a great chance of exceeding 11.5 points in tonight’s matchup.

First and foremost, his playing time has remained steady even with the Brooklyn Nets welcoming Durant back. While Curry failed to score more than eight points in each of the last two games, it’s worth pointing out that the Nets just played two of the best defensive teams in the league. That won’t be the case tonight as Brooklyn takes on the Charlotte Hornets.

In addition to a bottom-10 defensive efficiency ranking, the Hornets also rank third in Pace Factor. More possessions in tonight’s game figure to aid offensive production overall, with Curry being no exception. For a player who has averaged 15.0 points per game over the course of the full season, tonight’s NBA betting line of 11.5 is very cheap.

Tyus Jones Under 7.5 Points (-113)

Despite only playing 20 minutes once over the last five games backup Memphis Grizzlies point guard Tyus Jones has managed to score in double figures three times. Add in a nine-point showing in the most recent game and Jones has successfully eclipsed tonight’s NBA picks total of 7.5 points four times over the span. Despite this, it seems worthwhile to include this under amongst Tuesday’s NBA betting picks.

The fact that Jones has been putting together surprisingly high scoring totals despite not seeing a bump in playing time suggests that regression is imminent. Looking closer at his numbers, each of the games has been the result of an excessively large number of shot attempts and/or shooting the lights out. Very few players attempt more than eight shots in less than 20 minutes of game action. Jones has managed to do it three times in the last five games.

The other NBA player props factor to note here is the opponent. While the New Orleans Pelicans are far from a defensive juggernaut, they have been much better on that end of the floor recently. The Pels also play at a much slower pace than the Grizzlies which could work to reduce the number of possessions and shot attempts Jones sees. Unless an unforeseen spike in playing time occurs, the value lies with the under on this NBA props prediction.

Klay Thompson Over 3.5 Rebounds (-157)

After an abysmal shooting performance on Saturday night, the Golden State Warriors opted to sit Klay Thompson out of last night’s game for rest purposes. Thus, he will be back in the lineup for the second game of the team’s back-to-back this evening. While bettors may be gun shy about betting Thompson’s scoring NBA props tonight, there is terrific value to be had in the rebounding category.

Since making his midseason debut, Thompson has provided an average of 3.9 rebounds per game. For as poor as his offensive game was on Saturday, he still contributed six boards in the upset loss. With today’s NBA player props total of 3.5 sitting below Thompson’s season average, the over is the preferred play.

Once again, it is worth noting the matchup in this situation. This time, it figures to be to the benefit of Thompson producing on the glass. The L.A. Clippers come in with the fourth-worst Rebound Rate of any team in the league. With a nod to consistency, Thompson has exceeded the NBA betting total in six of his last seven games played. The only time he fell short was by a single rebound.
