After beating Patricky Pitbull to win the Bellator lightweight championship last year, No. 7 pound-for-pound Usman Nurmagomedov (16-0) is entering the bout as a clear favourite against No. 3 ranked former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson (30-11), who will be fighting for one last glory after consecutive wins over Islam Mamedov and Peter Queally gave him the justification for a spot in the Grand Prix.

In the co-main event, No. 2 ranked Tofiq Musayev (20-4) and No. 4 ranked Alexander Shabliy (22-3) will take on each other in another anticipated Lightweight Grand Prix quarter-final.

In another fight, No. 2 Michael ‘Venom’ Page (20-2) and No. 5 Goiti Yamauchi (28-5) are also scheduled to take on each other for welterweight. In total, Bellator 292 will feature 13 fights, and all fights will be a maximum of five rounds at five minutes per round.

After Friday’s quarter-final bouts, the tournament will resume on May 12 when Bellator MMA will travel to Paris, where Grand Prix alternate and No. 6 contender Brent Primus (11-3 MMA, 9-3 Bellator) will face Mansour Barnaoui, with the Usman/Henderson winner waiting in the semi-finals.
