Bears vs Saints NFL Playoffs Overview

The Bears initially came into this game with little-to-no shot at winning. They were disrespected by many, with most viewing this offense as not being a playoff-worthy group. Now, it was announced that talented rookie wide receiver Darnell Mooney and star linebacker Roquan Smith will both miss this game. Good luck.

Chicago has won three of their last four games, and the offense has performed better to end the season. Over their last five games, they have averaged 31.2 points, which is a huge jump up from their season average of 23.2. Unfortunately, the defense is now giving up too many points, allowing 25+ in three of their last five games.

The Saints enter this game off a dominating 33-7 win over the Carolina Panthers last weekend. Thy accomplished this despite being without receiver Michael Thomas and running backs Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray. They get all three back on offense this week. Unfortunately, the Saints will be without offensive guard Nick Easton and defensive end Trey Hendrickson. Still, the Saints were viewed as one of the most well-rounded teams in the NFC this season, since they have a talented defense to go along with their offense, which cannot be said for most of the NFC.

Bears vs Saints NFL Betting Trends

    • The Saints are 6-0 straight up in their last six matchups against the Bears.
    • The Saints are 4-2 against the spread (ATS) in their last six matchups against the Bears.
    • The under has hit in four of the last six games between the Bears and the Saints.
    • The total has hit the over in five of the Bears’ last six games.
    • The over has hit in six of the Bears’ last nine road games.
    • The Saints are 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine games.
    • The total has hit the under in six of the last nine games for New Orleans.

    Bears vs Saints Stats

    • Chicago is averaging 23.2 points per game (PPG) this season (T-No. 22 in the NFL).
    • Chicago is surrendering 23.1 PPG this season (T-No. 13 in the NFL).
    • New Orleans is averaging 30.1 PPG this season (No. 5 in the NFL).

Monkey Knife Fight NFL Playoffs Props | Bears vs Saints

Monkey Knife Fight is a DFS site unlike DraftKings or FanDuel. Instead, the contests feature props to play, with varying multipliers for each contest. Unlike the aforementioned sites, you are only competing with yourself when making NFL picks on MKF, and you do not need to worry about annoying salary caps.

Monkey Knife Fight has several great NFL props for the entire NFL Playoffs Wild Card Weekend slate. Here is one in particular that I like for the Bears vs Saints.

For this prop, we are looking at fantasy points of arguably each offense’s most important player. The Bears have limited quarterbacks lately, allowing under 250 passing yards in three of their past four games. The Saints should have more success than normal running against the Bears, due to the loss of Smith. There is also the lowered touchdown potential of Brees, since the Saints like to use Taysom Hill in the red zone. For these reasons, I’ll go UNDER 18.5.

Montgomery has been terrific lately, but it will likely be tough sledding against a top-five run defense. I don’t love his chances to score either, so we will go UNDER 16.5 for Montgomery.

Guessing these two props correctly pays out 3.5x your entry fee on MKF!

Bears vs Saints NFL Playoffs Prediction

The Bears offense and Mitch Trubisky have looked much better down the stretch of this season. However, that is because they have been able to establish the run, setting up play action and taking pressure off of Trubisky. The Saints allow the fourth-fewest yards per carry this season (3.9).

Chicago will likely not be able to run the ball. This puts added pressure onto Trubisky, who is also without a top pass catcher. I don’t expect much consistency from their offense at all.

    Bears vs Saints Prediction

Final Score Prediction: Saints 30, Bears 17
Betting Picks: Saints -10 (-110), Under 48 (-110) at Bovada Sportsbook)
