The offensive performance from the Chicago Bears last week was abysmal, leading to them falling in the NFL Power Rankings despite getting the win gift packaged from Will Levis. However, the final Bears injury report ahead of Week 2 suggests that the offense may not be turning around this week.
Along with a tough matchup against the Houston Texans, the Chicago Bears injury report suggests they could be missing two top receivers, making the job for Caleb Williams even tougher. Both Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze could be watching the game in street clothes. What does this mean for the Chicago offense?
The Chicago Bears’ injury report ahead of a tough Sunday Night Football game against the Texans is a bit concerning.
Both Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze are nursing injuries, which is not a good sign ahead of a tough matchup against a good opponent in a hostile environment. While Odunze was able to log limited participation in practice on Friday, Allen remained out of practice.
Head coach Matt Eberflus commented on the two talented receivers. He told the media that the team would “take it all the way up to the game” before they make a decision for these players. He labeled them both officially questionable for the game.
This will be a tough game for rookie Caleb Williams regardless. This will likely be the loudest environment he has ever played in, limiting the communication he has on the field while also slowing down the get-off for his offensive linemen. The tackles could really struggle as a result, given their matchups with Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter.
