With the 39th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears draft Teven Jenkins, offensive lineman out of Oklahoma State. Strengths

Jenkins is incredibly strong and aggressive, finishing blocks and plays with both. If he gets his hands on a defender, it’s over for them, and the play often ends with them on their backs or blown off the line of scrimmage. Jenkins has great hand technique and strength. When watching him play, it’s easy to compare his style to an offensive guard, but in an offensive tackle’s body.

Weaknesses

Often struggles to mirror defenders, due to average footwork. He doesn’t have much film against strong edge rushers, due to playing in the Big 12. Jenkins is a redshirt senior who is 23, making him one of the older prospects in the draft.

What to Expect From Teven Jenkins in 2021

Teven Jenkins is a versatile lineman that absolutely buries people. He is a perfect hit for this Bears team, as the city of Chicago will clearly love a player like that, but this weak offensive line could really use the versatility. Jenkins as the build of a tackle and the skills of a guard. He will be a Day 1 starter, and David Montgomery will look to cut it back behind Jenkins as much as possible.
