The Houston Rockets have traded Carmelo Anthony and cash to the Chicago Bulls.  https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1087476395830333446 While the trade itself has been anticipated for quite some time, the trade makes sense for Chicago. At 11-36, it is clear the team is not going to go anywhere and they will being releasing Melo immediately. However, adding cash considerations will give Chicago even more salary cap for next season, as they look to draw a potential superstar to their team. The Rockets, on the other hand, save about $2.6 million by trading away the aging former superstar, while also freeing up a roster spot.…

Carmelo Anthony’s career the last two seasons can be summed up in one word: disappointing. Once the league’s most explosive scorer, Carmelo Anthony is now a mix of a tragedy and laughing stock. In his final game for the Rockets, Anthony put up just 2 points on 1-11 shooting (0-6 from three-point range). It seemed as though that may have been Anthony’s last game ever in the NBA. However, reports are that the Rockets are “aggressively” looking to trade him. Anthony is currently earning $2.4 million on a one-year contract, so he can be both the centerpiece of a trade…

Anyone who follows the NBA knows that the Warriors added the final ‘infinity stone’ to their gauntlet of All-Star players when DeMarcus Cousins made his season debut after rupturing his Achilles tendon last season. In a game that Cousins was certainly nervous for, the four-time All-Star put up 14 points and 6 rebounds in just 15 minutes, including a massive dunk for his first basket since the injury. https://twitter.com/FlurrySports/status/1086473758842515457 Cousins’ Impact While the dunk will circulate social media, Cousins quietly made three of his four three-point attempts. This is the facet of the game that should scare opposing teams.…

The Los Angeles Lakers have yet to realize the final form of the roster LeBron James hopes to win his fourth title with. While the young corps of the Lakers; Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram, is the most intriguing young corps in the NBA, they don’t exactly fit LeBron’s timeline. Though, they  present some serious opportunities for the Lakers to make a trade before the fast approaching trade deadline on February 7th. Who Goes and Who stays?* First things first; Kyle Kuzma absolutely needs to be off-limits for the Lakers. Kuzma has improved in almost every statistical…

Atlanta Hawks Resolution: Find a way to make Trae Young succeed Trae Young has been absolutely abysmal this season. He shot 36% from deep in his lone year at Oklahoma but has found the NBA to be far less successful, shooting the three ball at just a 27.5% clip. The 15.6 points and 7.4 assists per game look good on paper, but Trae Young needs to be held to a higher standard than making just 1.4 three pointers on 5.1 attempts per game. Boston Celtics Resolution: Figure out how to be more consistent The Celtics have underwhelmed fans in…

Dallas Mavericks Resolution: Trade for Otto Porter Jr. A trade for Otto Porter Jr. would benefit the financially-ailing Wizards as well as the Mavericks, who could be looking to make a very unexpected push into the playoffs. A potential deal could look like the expiring contract of at least Wesley Matthews for two years (and a player option) of Porter Jr. This would make the Wizards more financially flexible in the years to come instead of being locked into the big three they have. This deal works well for the Mavericks too, as they attempt to provide Luka Doncic with…

Nike released the newest NBA Earned Edition jerseys Wednesday, and there are some that are definitely better than others. I have organized these sixteen new uniforms into four tiers. Tier 4: Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Utah Jazz Miami Heat: They say “real men wear pink.” The jersey is supposed to capture the nightlife of south beach, but these jerseys are an eyesore to look at. The design of the uniform is too simple to compete with the overly vibrant colors used. Milwaukee Bucks: These uniforms are grossly asymmetrical and the the arrangement of the sectioned colors, team…
