It was a relatively tame NFL Free Agency, but all 32 teams now have their attention directed toward the 2023 NFL Draft in order to add talent to their rosters. The first round of the draft is kicking off on Thursday, April 27th. Of course, draft analysis, projections and rumors will be dominating the NFL news until then. Among the players expected to hear his name called early on is Antonio Johnson out of Texas A&M.

The following is a complete Antonio Johnson NFL Draft profile, including stats, highlights and a mock projection.

When is the 2023 NFL Draft?

As always, the 2023 NFL Draft will be a three-day event. The first day will feature the first round of players, which is only 31 this season. All of these picks will be broken down here at FlurrySports. Day 2 will be Rounds 2-3 and Day 3 features Rounds 4-7.

The 2023 NFL Draft will take place from April 27-29 in Kansas City, MO. The Antonio Johnson draft projection expects him to hear his name called on the second day.

    Antonio Johnson Draft Profile

    Strengths

Antonio Johnson will be loved by whoever drafts him thanks to his ability to play multiple roles in an NFL defense. Johnson can play as a box safety as well as a big nickel. He can get off of run blocks relatively quickly and attacks the ball carrier. On pass plays, he runs through the receiver which often causes the ball to be jarred loose. His size should allow him to match up against bigger receivers as well at the NFL level.

    Weaknesses

One of the biggest weaknesses for Antonio Johnson is his tackling. He can sometimes overrun the play and is inconsistent at best. In last year’s game against Arkansas, he had a great touchdown-saving tackle, but he also whiffed on two easier plays. His speed doesn’t test well and his strength is questionable. In man coverage, he can often give too much cushion allowing too much space underneath.
