Amarius Mims Scouting Report

Strengths

Amarius Mims is built perfectly to play offensive line in the NFL. While he is a big boy, he also moves great for his size. He is strong, has shown impressive flexibility and his drive blocks are deadly. If Mims locks onto you in the run game, you may as well fall and try to grab a leg.

Weaknesses

Mims is really inexperienced, so it’s tough to say he’s battle-tested coming out of the SEC. He is also slow in his pass pro. This will improve, but he feels like a player who will need a chip to help him out. He will “get got” early in his career against talented edge rushers, and possibly even some mid-tier ones.

Overall, Mims is going to be a project for the team that drafts him, but he should help out in the run game immediately.
