With the start of 2023, the wait of Motocross fans is over as the new SuperMotocross League is here, marking 2023 as the inaugural year. This SuperMotocross League unifies the Supercross and Pro Motocross. It presents the season-ending format of the SuperMotocross World Championship, with the top racers battling for a title in a new racing style, melding the best of indoor supercross and outdoor motocross seasons.

Supercross has occurred at Angel Stadium of Anaheim 79 times, and it will be the 80th time in this venue, the most on any venue. Moreover, this is the 32nd season opener in 50 seasons this venue will be hosting. The 2023 Anaheim 1 Supercross track layout features a unique over-under bridge at the start and two sets of whoops, and back-to-back triples into the whoop section.

The 10-month spanning Supercross and Motocross schedule for 2023 was released last year, beginning from January 7, 2023, at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. It will conclude on May 13, 2023, at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. After a one-week break, the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season will begin on May 27 at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. It will finish on August 26 with the Ironman National in Crawfordsville, Indiana.

Three races will occur in September and October to select the first SuperMotocross champion. All those three winners will use their points to qualify for the new SuperMotocross Championship (SMX), inaugural playoffs, which will begin with the first round on September 9, 2023, at 3:00 pm ET. Two weeks later, The SMX playoffs round 2 will be on September 23, 2023, at 8:00 pm ET.
