AEW Dynamite Highlights
HOOK Ascends
A segment featuring Danhausen, Ricky Starks and HOOK was sure to be electric, but the end result was better than could even had been expected. Danhausen vs. Ricky Starks was a short affair, lasting only about three minutes, but it got both men some highlights. Danhausen was underestimated and almost capitalized before he too was caught off guard by a spear. Starks even in this short bout looked like a star oozing with charisma against the evil one, then his arrogance got to him. Starks called out for another challenger to prove he still had something in the tank, but that would prove to be a fatal mistake. His stable mate and son of Team Taz captain Taz, HOOK answered the bell.
HOOK and Starks had a great, short match where the accumulated damage to Starks was just too much. This segment made Starks a certified star and gave us HOOK holding up his Dad’s title in a moment years in the making. Plus, no one was weakened by these short matches due to the clever booking here. Including the Hobbs turn afterward, this was a night that could very well be a launching pad for all involved here, and that’s wrestling at its finest.
Progress for Hangman
Hangman Page has been in a bit of limbo as of late, but it would seem AEW has a firm direction for both the cowboy and the Young Bucks now. The Trios Titles have been announced, and a burying of the hatchet now seems inevitable here, which would be a moment that’s been built to throughout the history of AEW and Hangman’s personal journey as well. The interruption of the Dark Order, and seeing Hangman potentially have to choose between the friends who abandoned him and the group who took him in, should be a great story to follow going forward.
AEW Dynamite Lowlights
Another Belt?
I won’t harp on this too much because I have in the past, but AEW has way too many titles. Announcing Trios Championships has been a long time coming, but that was before introducing the All-Atlantic Belt and all of ROH to the mix. This not only makes these belts feel less special, but it really hinders your ability to see all of these titles in action. Like, did the Women’s division really need any more competition for screen time? How about the tag teams? It’s a good idea in theory, but belts in AEW have become a joke in some respects due to their surplus.
AEW Headlines

Triple H takes over WWE creative duties and announces plans to emphasize change and improvements following SummerSlam.
WWE SummerSlam is set to take place this weekend, featuring Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns in a Last Man Standing Match.
