With yet another week completed of ACC basketball, the true contenders are starting to reveal themselves in the conference. Miami was able to go another week, holding onto the top spot in the ACC. Notre Dame picked up two wins over Virginia and North Carolina State to climb to the number three spot in the conference.
The ACC once again has a loaded week of games, with 15 on the schedule. With a matchup of North Carolina and Duke on Saturday, all eyes will be on ACC basketball this week.

Duke Basketball Survives a Scare against Clemson
Clemson staged a comeback, as Duke led by seven with just over eight minutes remaining. Hunter Tyson hit a three for the Tigers, while Chase Hunter scored a fast-break dunk to cut the lead to two. Nick Honor hit a three-pointer to give Clemson a one-point lead.
With just over a minute to go, Banchero hit a mid-range jumper to give Duke a two-possession lead. Tyson once again led a comeback, scoring a dunk to make it a one-point game. Banchero once again came up huge for Duke, as he scored a layup in the final moments of the game. Duke then ran out the clock to win the game.
The win for the Blue Devils puts them at a 15-3 record, good for third in the ACC, behind Miami and Florida State. Clemson drops to 11th in the ACC, with an 11-8 record. The Blue Devils take on the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday, while Clemson has the rest of the week off, before their game against Florida State on Wednesday, Feb. 2.
Miami Beats Virginia Tech at the Buzzer
Miami led by five coming out of halftime. As the second half of the game progressed, Virginia Tech closed that lead. Virginia Tech’s Hunter Cattoor made a three-point shot, which was later partnered with a Justyn Mutts layup to bring a lead of 75-70 with just over two minutes to play. The Hokies then went cold, missing their last eight shots to end the game. After a missed Miami layup, Isaiah Wong was fouled on a three-point shot, leading to three free throws. Wong made all three free throws to tie the game up at 75.
Miami’s Kameron McGusty was called for an offensive foul with 28 seconds left to give Virginia Tech the ball. Cattoor missed a three-point shot, where Miami controlled the rebound. The Hurricanes called a timeout with one second left. On that possession, Moore made the game-winning half-court shot.
