Week 9 fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em RB analysis from FlurrySports includes the likes of Arizona Cardinals’ Bam Knight.
Having an elite, healthy running back is more important than ever for fantasy football success. However, very few can say they have this. Instead, you are likely playing the matchups and trying to find value to start at your RB2 position in fantasy football. Whether it be because of injuries or bye week, Week 9 is a tough one, but our Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em will help you decide on some of those tough lineup decisions.
No, you are not sitting Bijan Robinson despite a bad performance last week. Simply, start your studs! This article is designed to help solve some of those difficult RB2 or Flex questions you may have, with players who live in that grey area.
Now, labeling a player as a “sit” does not mean they are a must-sit player. As always, check out my weekly fantasy football rankings here. You can also become a member to join a group chat with me and other members where all fantasy football start ’em, sit ’em questions are welcomed!

Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em: Week 9 RBs
Start: Bam Knight Fantasy Outlook at Cowboys
Zach Brunner’s Week 9 Fantasy Football Rankings
Start: Kareem Hunt Fantasy Outlook at Bills
The Bills continue to struggle to defend the run. They have allowed the second-most yards per carry this season (5.5), and they will be without Ed Oliver on their defensive front. Buffalo has also allowed the sixth-most fantasy points per game to RBs this season. This game has a projected total of 52.5 points, and we always see the offenses put on a show in these Chiefs-Bills matchups. Kareem Hunt put up two touchdowns last week, and he has a high chance of getting another on Sunday.

Sit: Alvin Kamara Fantasy Outlook at Rams
If you are part of the 64% of people still starting Alvin Kamara in ESPN fantasy leagues (as of Wednesday night), God bless ya, and please invite me to play in your league season. There are so many reasons why Kamara is a “sit” in our Week 9 Fantasy Football Start ’em, Sit ’em. And while he is certainly not a must-drop player, you shouldn’t lose sleep if you do let the veteran go.
Last week, Kamara played just 51% of the snaps, and this is no fluke. However, the more concerning part of last week is that the Saints had Kamara and rookie Devin Neal run the same number of routes (22), so he is no longer the clear “receiving back” either. On top of everything, the Saints’ offense isn’t good enough to put Kamara in scoring position much, and the matchup is a nightmare. The Rams have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to RBs per game this season, and they are the only team not to allow a rushing touchdown to the position. While not a must-drop, Kamara is a must-sit in Week 9.
Sit: Jacory Croskey-Merritt Fantasy Outlook vs Seahawks
Like last week, we will end this column with Jacory Croskey-Merritt. Yes, I have seemingly been a “hater” of JCM since the preseason, but I have nothing against him as a player. This is not a good spot for him whatsoever. No team is better against the run this season than the Seattle Seahawks, who have surrendered a league-low 3.3 yards per carry. This drops to an even 3.0 if we only consider RBs.
JCM is the early-down running back for the Commanders, while Jeremy McNichols is the change-of-pace and third-down back. The latter’s skillset is a better fit to perform in this matchup, especially if you believe the Seahawks will win. Aside from the matchup against a stout defense, Croskey-Merritt is coming off back-to-back games of a sub-three-yard per carry efficiency. Take Terry McLaurin off this offense, and possibly Jayden Daniels as well, and there is little reason to believe the spacing will lead to an efficient day for Jacory Croskey-Merritt.
